Stanford New Grad RN Residency August 2022

Published

Wanted to create this so everyone applying for the August 2022 cohort for Stanford's New Grad RN residency program can stay up to date! :)

Thank you for the input guys and motivation. Congratulations to those of you that have interview offers?

Hello guys!

So (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) just wanted me to relay a message to you guys since a lot of you have emailed the New Grad email about this...

Stanford DOES accept interim permits. Multiple nurses on the last cohort had them and most of the nurses were out of state nurses. They still accept them. Karly also wanted to emphasize that they do NOT pick out those with a license first. She mentioned that 50% of the ICU invite candidates have an NCLEX date pending.

She mentioned that they rule out those who don't have all their applications and then score from there. They never look at license/NCLEX, BLS/ACLS as a reason to not offer an interview.

For this cohort, she wants you to have a license (perm or temp) by August 8th at midnight. She mentioned that the last cohort literally had 20+ offers get their license the week before the deadline and that it's pretty common. ?

Best of luck guys!!

Thank you for clarifying for us all. This gives me hope.

Question to those receiving interviews, are you guys getting email invites or is someone calling you? Thank you and congrats to those who've gotten interviews/job offers!

Also wanted to add on- if you do fail your NCLEX however, your offer won’t be safe. ?

I got an email.

Does anyone know how Stanford is with new grads that want to change units eventually? Say you are hired and realize you don't like the unit and want to transfer?

For anyone still waiting, I just got an email

Hi @Manul91 thank you for sharing your insight with us! Is there anything you did to prepare for the interview or might recommend doing? Also, if people didn't have a situation come to mind when answering a question what happened?
