Stanford New Grad Residency February 2021

Hey everyone! Thought I'd start the thread in case we have questions or run into issues during the application process. Or to just keep each other sane as we await for news.

@RNMonkey

Hey sorry, it wouldn't let me reply to the private message.

I heard back from KS within 1 day of emailing him. it was pretty quick. If he hasn't replied to you maybe that is a good sign?

it sucks. I totally screwed up on one of the questions. Im so mad at myself for letting this opportunity slip through my fingers. Did you apply to any other programs?

What time did everyone receive a call regarding a second interview?

I interviewed with surgical division 1 on Friday and received a call on Saturday morning to schedule the second interview. She said they were up late on Friday making decisions and it seems like it might still be only the trauma unit that have gotten invites for second interviews. Not sure though.

Thanks! Best of luck on your second interview! I interviewed for Surgical/tele division 2 yesterday morning and they said we should be hearing back today or tomorrow.

@The Lorax Congratulations on your offer! That's so awesome! Do you mind sharing your second interview experience? What type of questions were asked? Thanks!

Does anyone know the units on Oncology that were on the panel?

Hi everyone! I just got a call for a 2nd interview for one of the Surgical/Tele units tomorrow!

Specializes in Cardiac Cath Lab.

Med/Tele 1st interview today. We’ll see how it goes ??‍♀️

I felt like everyone in my panel did a great job answering these behavioral questions.  Good luck ya’ll!

Thank you!

It is a lot more laid back in comparison to the first interview to be honest. The questions are still behavioral type questions, and expect 3-4 of them. I had five members of the CSICU staff in my interview and they all asked questions to get to know me better shortly after the behavioral questions were completed. I asked my questions to them and we concluded the interview after that ?

Hi @The Lorax, laid back sounds nice.  Round 1 was indeed intense.  Is Round 2 alone or was it with another panel of candidates as well?

For round 2, you are alone with the nursing team and it is really just a full send from there of how you approach your interview! Confidence and a smile goes a long way!

Specializes in Step-down/ED/ICU.

I interviewed with Surgical, too, and I was so impressed with everyone on the panel and in the interview. I feel safer knowing we have such amazing scientists and caregivers. Good luck everyone!

Hi everyone! For my experience - I got notice of a panel interview invite last week, interviewed with the Oncology panel on Tuesday, got a call for the second/final interview (BMT unit) on Wednesday around 3:00pm, and have my final interview tomorrow morning. They seem pretty quick!

I believe the two oncology units were IP Oncology and BMT.
