Stanford and Lucile Packard 2011 RN Residency

U.S.A. California

Hello,

Just wanted to start this thread for all the Summer 2011 Stanford and Packard RN Residency hopefuls!!! Good luck everyone!!! :)

I have a phone interview scheduled for next week!

The person I spoke to told me that they do not give a phone interview to everyone. She said they are doing about 14-15 interviews a day and there are about 20-25 positions at LPCH and 10 at SHC.

Really?! Wow, I thought everyone had them. Well, good luck on your phone interview!

Hi all, I spoke with my interviewer yesterday. She mentioned if selected to be considered for an interview your application status will change to "route" a few days after your phone interview. She then went on to say, we won't hear until end of June/early July if they want to interview us because there are so many candidates? Maybe we'll hear a little earlier :) Best of luck to everyone!

My status updated a couple of days after the phone interview. Stanford went to Sorry not Selected and Packard says Application in Review. I was asked my first choice and I said Packard...maybe that is why the Stanford status switched to Sorry so quickly. Just as cu1234 stated, I was also told that if selected for an interview it will switch to Routed.

So was it 1 phone interview for both your applications together? If so, did they ask general questions or specific to pediatrics or adults?

Sounds like they prefer you to only have a chance at one place?

It's only one phone interview and everyone gets the same questions no matter which facility you are applying to. The questions are very general, they are just getting to know you and they have nothing to do with nursing care. At the end I was directly asked what my first choice was...Peds/Maternity or Adults.

thanks for all the info you guys! It's making me a little bit less nervous for my interview! A little bit :)

I have a phone interview for next week as well. Good luck to everyone!!

:D

Submitted my application this morning. Good luck to everyone!!!

I applied to both programs and had my phone interview on the 19th. My application status for both says "application in review". I hope that ends up being good news.
