Stanford Health Care Nurse Residency Cohort 41

Published

Hey guys! I'm starting this thread for the Stanford Nurse Residency, Cohort 41. Hopefully we can update each other on application processes, interviews, and job offers!

Applications open up at 12 am tonight! Good luck to all of us!

I have MSN degree, years of experience in medical filed, class president, CNSA president ,Tutor for Medsurg, maternity, peds, advanced pharm ( Hired by my school), GPA 4, 1400 hours of volunteering, No invite..........

I am not sure if this is true but I hear MSN students are less prioritized by recruiters in California. I also have an MSN.

Specializes in Cardiovascular.

I think even BSN are less prioritized, im starting to feel that having too much background and experience is just that, "too much" I have my BSN, previous Bachelor in PT , CNA experience, intership, costumers service, no so many hours of volunteer, 3 languages , worked hard on my essay and questions, 2 of my faculties checked my letter and questions before submitting . No invitation yet 🫥🫥🫥🫥🫥🥴😬

You guys are ALL great candidates!! Good luck to you all.

I have to say, I have a job offer from Sutter, and interview with Kaiser. I do believe the recruiters do see the value of MSN degree. Not sure about Stanford. If they do not see the value then their loss.

I also have an MSN and I kinda feel it is the case. But I know two MSN students who got in a nurse residency program (they were previous employees of the site they got accepted into). Anyone with a MSN received an invite?

Did anyone get invites this morning?

Nothing yet, maybe by 1100

I heard from a recruiter that many residency programs prefer no medical experience because they want a clean slate to be able to mold people.

I know how you feel. I am worried that I have limited options to strengthen my application further. I saw that you have a Sutter offer - congrats! And an interview with Kaiser - again, congrats! I'm looking forward to interviewing with them because it's a step in what feels like the right direction. Maybe we will get to see each other's presentation interviews 🙂. Wishing you the best of luck!

Don't give up hope yet! I just checked my interview link from 5/29 and there are still 2 time slots open, so more interview invites will go out. There were 5 time slots originally.

Thank you so much for this reassuring info! Are these time slots for all departments/specialties? Also, does it give you a rough idea as to how many people can sign up for each time slot? Again, I appreciate your help and support!
