St. Joseph's Providence Hospital?

I have an interview today with St. Joseph's providence hospital in burbank, ca. I have never been to this hospital and was wondering if anyone could tell me how the hospital is and if it was a good environment to work in.

Just curious about your the resume you used when you applied... did you guys have any clinical/medical experience at all? Do you have your ADN or BSN?

Yes, I have worked at various roles in the medical field. I am not sure if that played a part as I have applied to a ton of different position but only have had a handful of calls for interviews. I have an ADN but clearly stated I am starting BSN in May.

I didn't have much medical experience, but worked as an MA in a doctor's office before school, and i have my BSN...

Five10fevr, yeah I got the emails too! Getting really excited. Have you done the background check yet? Mine is still in progress...i think i am still waiting on one reference...is yours still in progress? Not sure how long these things take...i am assuming they will call us when it is all clear?

Yes, My background check is complete. Yours should finalize this week. If they are waiting on someone to verify employment. They might ask for your help. Yes, PSJMC will contact when everything is back.

So I asked a friend that had clinical at PSJMC if they wore any scrubs they liked she said yes. No color coordination at least last spring when she was there.

Hello! I too got the job at St. Joe's. Congrats to everyone who got the new grad position! Do you know if we have to wear our scrubs on our first day of orientation? Or do we come in in business casual attire?

You are able to wear Professional dress or uniforms just no open-toed shoes.

No problem!!! I will be on 7NE nights it is med/surg bariatric floor. Can't wait until June 3rd when our craziness will begin.

Congrats mbzldzlrn! Welcome! I can't wait for June 3rd either! In regards to the dress code for the orientation, I was told the same thing: business casual or scrubs. Are you guys wearing scrubs?

I am curious how many are in each unit? I forgot to ask when I was there! Telemetry has 34 beds...How many beds does the med/surg unit have? I am assuming it depends on the size of each unit...

I believe 7NE has either 34 or 36 beds on it. What floor is Tele on? According to our schedule it looks like 7 different floors not including Mother Baby, so I would guess 2-3 per floor but that is a total guess.

I haven't decided if I will be wearing scrubs or business casual. How about you?

When do the two of you plan on contacting your manager to set up your week two shifts? I think it might be a little too early but I think I will call her next week.

Not sure exactly but I would like to wear my scrubs. As far as scheduling the week 2 shifts, maybe we may learn more information on our first day of orientation as far as the scheduling is concerned for week 2.
