St Joseph's College of Maine FNP program students

Nursing Students NP Students

Published

I wanted to start this thread for all of the new (and current) students at Saint Joseph's College of Maine FNP program.

Any info, news, updates or questions/concerns could be asked here for all the new and current students.

Any advice that the current students can give us new students would be greatly appreciated :)

For example...

1. How many books are required for NU 501?

2. Has setting up clinicals been difficult?

3. Have the current students had any trouble communicating with your advisors? Do they get back to you promptly?

4. Overall, how has the experience been? Are you glad you are in this program?

Thanks so much!

Any others 2018 Fall start date for FNP at St. Joseph College ME?

I started in February this year and there have been so many changes. The courses are challenging! All quizzes are proctored now and all the quizzes in the course have to have an average of 83 or better before the other grades are counted. Leaving it nearly impossible to pass unless you pass ALL the quizzes. Feel free to message me with any questions.

Hello,

I am starting the online FNP program and St. joseph's college in maine in one week any pointers for me? how are you liking the program so far?

Hi Sarah!

I loved the program at the beginning... there are too many changes occurring every semester that I can't keep them straight. Challenging courses! Professional professors! A little on the pricey side( but what program isn't) student advisors are helpful in answering your questions! Overall I would give it a 6/10. Good luck!

Thank you!

Following. I begin the Post Masters FNP Certificate program on Feb 1st.

Hi- @Catherineann

I applied to St. Joseph’s for the PGC certificate program. I noticed you were the only one who joined the specific program. Can you tell me how it went and if you can give me any pointers? I can’t PM you since I don’t post often.

The program went well I did have trouble with preceptors finding them and then some backed out; the classes were great, some fabulous instructors; I went to graduation in Maine; I’m glad I found the college and after a long search I found it here on allnurses.com

I would highly recommend, after graduation I studied Leak and Fitzgerald and passed the FNP certification; it’s been 5 years and I just renewed my ANCC certification; strive to be dedicated, work hard and you will cross the finish line!!

Thank you so much for the words of encouragement. I stumbled upon the program while doing a lot of research. I love the amount of units we have to do complete and the reasonable amount of tuition. Thanks again!
