Srjc nursing lottery 2017

Published

I applied to SRJC's nursing program for 2017. I recently got my lottery number for College of Marin, and is in the wait list for CCSF's nursing prog. Still hoping to get in the the jc's program for fall/spring 2017!

I contacted Donna and she told me I'm on the bottom third of the list :( but she did say I still have a chance and in the past, it has happened. I'm still sitting with fingers crossed because my prereqs will start to expire soon. Either way, I will find a way to get back home to attend.

I've been here for 2 years so it won't be a big deal as I've gone back plenty of times to take classes. We are situated 45 minutes either way from Venice and Verona :)

I wasn't aware that prereqs expire for community colleges. Maybe CSU's and UC's though...

Sgregg-

Not sure about all community colleges, but I know CCSf requires you take them within 7 years and I'm pretty sure I've seen 5 year requirement for some other schools as well, not only CSU.

How exciting to read these! I got accepted to the program last semester and am in my second semester in nursing school! Congratulations to those of you who got in! The program really is amazing and nursing school is not as hard as everyone makes it seem! You will all love it!

I applied for 2017 at srjc and still have not received any letter saying I got in or not. I'm getting more anxious and worried. Has anyone found out this late in the process?

You should have received a response e-mail by now. I would contact the school and make sure they have the correct e-mail address. The deadline was June 19th for acceptance letters to be returned and the teas test date has passed as well. I hope you get it worked out.

I recently found out from another nursing student that when the JC did their lottery the system glitched out at last names beyond "W". In other words, if your last name starts with the letter "W" or a letter past that in the alphabet you did not receive any kind of notification whether you were accepted or not. This might explain why some people haven't heard anything from the JC. Yikes!!!

Yap it did but only the "ws" were affected!!!

Hey! I got offered to take the TEAS today via email from Donna. Anyone else receive this? Anyone offered to take the TEAS late and actually have a chance to get in?? Trying not to get my hopes up... buuuuttt I am excited about the email!

That's exciting. I'm not sure about the answer; however, today was the last day for background check submission so maybe some people didn't make the deadline? Fingers crossed for you!

I think they let the deadlines slide when you are accepted after the fact. They have to make some adjustments if they are continually accepted students after some of the deadlines. E-mail Donna and she will answer any questions. I recently was switched to Fall semester instead of Spring. All I did was ask her about the SSU bridge BSN program for Spring start students and she offered me a spot in Fall the next day. So happy I messaged her!!

Congratulations! I'm scheduled to start in the fall too :)
