Spring 2011 VCU hopefuls?

Same here -- VCU and Duke were tied. Initially I was hoping I wouldn't get into one so my decision would be made easier for me... but I also didn't get an interview. It was NOT a good day, that's for sure. I had a 3.69 in undergrad and a 3.8 in graduate school. 1250 GRE score. I've run rescue squad for almost 3 years now... so I'm hoping it will be enough. I'm not the best essay writer (more hands on). Was the envelope small or big? Did they give you any other information in the letter, besides well, the AWESOME CONGRATULATIONS!? :)

Thanks for sharing! Now I'm just nervous in general. I live in Northern Virginia so hopefully I'll hear tomorrow. I do have a fall back (University of Southern Maine) but I would love love love to be at VCU in May.

Yeah, I am really appreciating this acceptance letter so much more because of the Duke fiasco. That was definitely a BAD day for me, too. I remember seeing that you didn't get an interview with your grades and experience, and I was shocked!

The envelope was big. It has a bunch of stuff in it. I haven't been able to go through all of it yet. I have a quiz tonight for A&PII that I've been *trying* to study for. I do know the deposit is due by March 1, and I think we register for classes in April.

I really hope I hear good news from you tomorrow!!!!

I got in!! I can't even believe it!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations!! You will love VCU SON! My daughter lives in the FAN and loves everything about the program. SBL29, can I ask where you got your bachelor's from?

Thank you so much!! I did my bachelor's at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Majored in Advertising, of all things.

Hey all, I got in too!!! I was so excited when I got my envelope, I was actually heading out the door to head to NC for my interview at duke tomorrow (I can't believe you guys didn't get interviews.... you sound more qualified than me). But the mail came and now I feel so much less pressured. Duke is prolly my first choice program but vcu is much more financially feasible. I had a 3.5 in business from va tech, all As in pre reqs, lots and lots of volunteer exp w special olympics and the sticu at vcu. Im also a certified cna. Im really pulling for you nolemercy, I really hope you get in!

I got in today too! I graduated from VA Tech too with a degree in animal science and have been working as a care partner!

I got in too! So excited!! I went to Virginia Tech too. I got a BA in International Studies and Spanish. Also got a MA from George Mason in International Commerce and Public Policy.

I can't wait to meet everyone in May!!! :lol2: :yeah: :lol2:

I'm going March 11th. I'm excited too :) got to now coordinate everything and get my ducks in a row. Had to email a syllabus today, to see if a class qualifies. It should... But of course another thing to wait on I don't know what it means if it doesn't, but hopefully it being a graduate level statistics class it should be fine.

So much to do in the next 3 months! Just as a note scrubs and lab coats take 2-4 weeks to arrive since they have to be personalized.
