Hi guys,

Starting a new thread for USF Ca MSN for Non RN's program.... just submitted my app!!! Super anxious but I am glad I submitted early!!!! Anyone else submitted applications???

Hi FutureCNL - I agree, hopefully this is the first and last time lol. Are you done with all your prerequisites too? I'm kind of worried now that someone said it's less likely to get in with a few classes in progress :unsure: I guess there's nothing I can do about that regardless though.

Hi Caitlinkay, this is my first time hearing that if your prereq's are not done you have less of a chance. But, things do change every application cycle so who knows. They look at so much it's really hard to say that exactly it is that will get you in. Also, all the people I've talked to that have been in the program say how diverse their cohort is- which is a good thing! Now I am nervous, people are starting to hear back...

Sorry to hear that! Where do you live? Maybe think of applying to the BSN program in Sacramento? It's not very popular yet so there is a higher chance of getting in...

@futureCNL - yeah, that's true. I feel like the subjectiveness is good but also can be nerve racking since you have no idea how to gauge what they're looking for each year. Yeah, that made me nervous too hearing that they already sent back a denial already. That seems so quick :confused:

Ahh I have not checked this in awhile! I didn't know everyone was being so active in here already, but I love it! We can all be nervous together especially since I guess people are hearing back already?! :up: Also, I really wouldn't worry about having a class in progress. I asked about three different office staff there if it was okay because it was something that I was nervous about as well since I do have one.

Side note: Where is everyone from by the way?? I'm from LA, but currently live in the SJ area.

@mak5678 - thank you for the heads up. That's really helpful to know the staff said it was alright. I'm from Fresno though and am back temporarily finishing prereqs and whatnot. Hoping for that good news to be moving to the bay though ;)! Where in LA are you from? I lived there for a bit for undergrad.

I received an email to check my status on my application. I have one outstanding pre req but I'm sure that wasn't the case. I am waiting on 3 other programs but at the meantime, I am going to reapply for the summer 2016.

According to the CA Board of Nursing, the USF entry level MSN program just got approved to start in Orange County. I haven't heard anything about the application process, but it's supposed to start this upcoming Spring and Fall 2016. That could also be an option? Good luck!
