For reference: I applied for the Fall '19 Sacramento ABSN cohort, with our applications due April 1st. I was accepted during the 1st round of offers, which didn't occur until June 18th (if I recall). Good luck everyone!

Well... with that timing, perhaps we will know soon!

Hey guys! I am about to finish the ABSN program so ask me anything.

Hi everyone,

Has anyone who applied to the 2020 ABSN programs emailed or called admissions to get an update on acceptance/waitlist timing? I saw on the BSN feed that someone was told it wouldn't be until Nov. 1st for theirs. That seems like a really long time to wait to tell us! If anyone has emailed admissions in Sacramento about the ABSN program, I'd love to hear from you!

I just shot her (name intentionally left out) an email and she replied right back with mid October.

I’m glad I reached out. Apparently my references weren’t received yet. One of my references even got a confirmation that it had been sent in.

Looking over my application that was sent in. How do you guys figure what GPA they’re using and/or the science GPA?

When you reached out to admissions they said your application on Nursing CAS didn't have complete references even though Nursing CAS said you did? Yikes! Should we all be calling?

NursingCAS said they weren’t received either.. which is odd when those giving references had gotten a confirmation page.

I just discovered how to login to the old application (not the 2019-2020 that we’re directed to now). Which is why I’m seeing the application for the first time and trying to hone in on the GPA they provide to SMU.

My app said I had unverified coursework, which I thought was weird since NursingCAS said my transcripts had all been received, so I called the admissions office to check on that. The lady just told me to give it time and said transcripts were still coming in... ??? She also said we’ll be notified “soon” about acceptances. Not a very helpful phone call, but I’m thinking we’ll find out by next week.

I made a spreadsheet to calculate my GPA, but it’s showing something lower on my app. This is very worrisome!!

Hey guys! How were you able to check your NursingCAS application from the 2018-2019 cycle? The last time I checked my application, there was a massive screw up in one of my GPA calculations (I think it was for math). After emailing one of the admissions officers at the Sac campus, she said not to worry about it bc they don't look at math GPAs anyway and have their own special way of calculating the last 60 units and the science GPAs. I'd like to monitor my NursingCAS application anyway seeing how error-prone this application system appears to be.

When you first go to the NursingCAS page, don’t login like normal... that takes you to this years applications. There is a link in the fine print above that says “here” in blue that will take you to the login page for last school years applications ?

Im right there with ya! Seems worrisome to not really know what GPA they’re saying we have for the application period. Makes a stressful time, slightly more stressful. Glad to have you guys to talk to through it!

I ended up just calling and speaking to a admissions counselor. She was able to give me both GPAs and tests scores they were using for my application. I have a feeling sometime around the 15-18 we will all know ! They seem to like those dates from previous application cycles!!
