Hi every one!!
Thanks for the advice on my papers. My doctor finally signed them, but it was frustrating. I see some postings here about the books, but I haven't seen a list posted. Does any body have the list with the books ???? I would love to find them and order some. Thanks for the info on the zipper top.I ordered XXS and hope it fits.
Hi everyone,
Got my shirt today from Meridy's. The website prompted me to order an XS according to my measures (there is nothing extra small about me) but I ordered a Small instead and I am glad I did. It fits just fine. I guess that is the same experience that others are having so those of you that haven't ordered yours yet, get the size larger than what they recommend.
Boy, I do not like the fact that the shirt does not zip all the way down. Yikes... These classes I am taking now are killing me, I just want to be able to relax and celebrate and get all this paperwork done and these silly ole classes are taking up too much of my time...
I have that one sitting over here too. I think it is just another form that we must fax to American DataBank (via the compliance website). I think, but I'm not completely sure.I just got my zip up top from Meridy's in the mail and have tried it on. I ordered a size small, but I am really wishing I had ordered an XS. The website prompted me to order XXS based on my measurements, but since I had tried on a decently fitting similar top in Uniformity that was a small, that is what I ordered. I will probably be looking at their exchange policy...it's not just a little loose, so it's not something I'd expect shrinking to account for. I would want the top to be slightly loose though so I don't know...
Has anyone else received their uniforms yet?
Also got one of my textbooks in the mail- not the most interesting of them (APA guide). Ended up ordering the previous edition (5th instead of 6th). I figured not much would change with APA style...
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!! Only a couple more weeks left of this term and then we can get some relaxation in before we really get started!
I got my Meridy's top in the mail today. Size XS since the website recommended XXS
It fits find all over but around my breast it's a little tight....I am 36C - how did the website
recommend XXS for me?...lol
so I don't know..... I guess I will have to reorder size Small... I tried it with different bras too
Nestadren, did you get yours yet? was it easy to exchange... did you have to pay more?

Kompozit, I got this link from Nestadren and it gives you the list to all this books needed:

I know this may seem crazy to some of you, but I got through all my pre-reqs using the previous version books
in all my classes (except A&P and Microbiology LAB book). I found out that books are exactly the same...
with same chapters. They change the cover and add another pic and sentence here and there but they Do Not rewrite the whole book. That said I have oldered previous versions of the books for $5 total each from Ebay (except for couple of them that I will get the new version). I talked to a girl who is in her 4th semester and she said she goes strictly by the teacher notes and reads the book as a back up to help her understand.
She also said she never touched the APA blue book for UCF class.
Anyhow, I will see how it works and if I need to purchase the new version then I will and I would only lose
$5 and if they work... save a lot of money. Just my 2cents :lol2:

No, I actually haven't shipped it back yet. It took a few days for the authorization to go through, and a couple days ago I was crammed with exams. I plan to take care of it Monday...since I now have to also ship back my Amazon textbooks. I ordered 5, and each was damaged in some form. Oh, and about the cost to return the top, they do make you pay to ship it back- it'll probably be like $5.
Regarding the purchase of new vs old editions I did want to add my thoughts. I did choose to order the new editions for this reason: for pharmocology, patho, procedural texts and the like, they do get updated with what is the current standards and new info. On one of the texts on the inside panel, there was even a note acting as a disclaimer but basically saying that students should confirm that all information is current.
Now, this updating may be small and may be easily read about online or what not...and we will have to keep ourselves updated like this when we are working, however... As a beginning student I want to feel assured that I am learning the most current and relevent material. I did find that on amazon (and many other bookstores online), the price difference for new vs used textbooks was not that great (generally about 15-20$ at the most, for almost all of them) if we are talking about new edition. I did some research here on this site about whether to purchase current ed. or not, and the consensus was to either purchase new or only the former edition (1 older), not to go with editions older than that for the reason that they'd be too outdated. It depends on the person... I think a person could do well with either.
RedCarnation: when we met, if I am remembering correctly, I think you mentioned where you lived and it was very close to me...I do still have my size small top. Since you also still have the size extra small top, would you be at all interested in meeting up together this weekend to try eachother's on? I know we are both busy with finals next week but it might be a good idea. I have the BLS HCP course tomorrow in the A.M. until 1 or 2, but maybe we could arrange it for later or Sunday (or even Monday if you can't on Sat/Sun.) Send me a private PM if you are interested and we could set something up.
:)
From Kompozit:

Hi Kompozit! Sounds good! As long as it's soon- this weekend probably, because we need to return our tops so we get the new ones early enough. Waiting to hear back from RedCarnation but maybe all of us ladies should get together for a trying-on session! Have you recieved the top yet? How was the fit?
The site prompted me for an XXS as well. I'm a 36 bust. Kinda weird how the promptor doesn't ask about your cup size, only band width. I think it would definitely make a difference! My cup size is larger than both of you, but I still don't like the fit of the size small I ordered. It almost looks like it hangs off of me (of my chest that is, and just hangs down). I definitely don't want it too tight it the bust though! I didn't particularly care for the fit of the scrub pants I ordered at Uniformity- at any size! Hopefully it's not just something we have to get used to....!
I haven't recieved it yet. I ordered it 3 days ago and I ordered XXS. When I read your postings,I was worried because I am 34C and XXS may be too small for me. I'm working tomorrow(Saturday) untill 4 pm. Any other time during the weekend is OK for me. Even tomorrow mornig up to 10 am. Whenever it is convinient for you. And Nestadren, could you post the link for the books one more time, please. RedCarnation posted it for me, but for some reason it did not work. Thank you.
Nestadren, Kompozit: I was thinking about you when I got my shirt, but figured you had already returned it. Yes, lets do that. I'm home tomorrow till 6pm
and Sunday all day till 4pm - Monday I'm home all day.
I have emailed you my phone number already.
and will PM you my address for both of you in a bit.
Hi everyone! I am new to the discussion board but will also be starting the concurrent BSN program in January. I am excited & nervous! I wish I would've known about this sooner because there is alot of good info on here that would've helped me! Anyways I'm still getting my immunization paperwork completed. My doctor's office was giving me a hard time too! I went to Uniformity after I got fingerprinted on Wednesday & got the pants & polo but I ordered the top/jacket through the website. I ordered a small & it sounds like it's going to be too big - great! Looks like that will be getting exchanged. I am just curious about when clinicals are going to start. Does anyone know if they're going to be all day, every Saturday or Sunday or both? I know we'll find out at orientation but I'm just curious. I'll be working during the week as well as some of you so I'm just trying to prepare myself as much as possible ahead of time!! UGH! Well I look forward to getting to meet everyone at orientation next week! :)
