Spring 2018 MDC Nursing Program

Published

My journey started from cna, lpn now,I applied for spring 2018 nursing bridge program. I am looking forward to what it has to offer and the challenges ahead. Anything is possible if you work hard and be persistence in reaching every goal you set for yourself. Always keep a positive mind.

I hope this helps. My friend did the bridge option at MDC. He broke down this 3 semesters into 1,500 for the first, 1,700 for the second, and 1,800 for the third semester so about 5 grand not including books and uniforms.

wonder if there's a price difference between the bridge option and FT or AO

I hope not! They sent them out last year that same week, so we should definitely be on the look out. I'm so nervous lol. I just want to get it over with!! This wait is killing me. I received an email from medical campus today, something about resumes, but all I saw was "medical campus" and I freaked out, my heart literally stopped

Lol yeah let's hope that's not the case. I went to ask the week after the hurricane and they said the hurricane set them back 2 weeks because the school was closed and so normally responses would be sent out early October but since they were behind that responses would then be backed up about 2 weeks so mid October. That response was from one person and the response I recently got was from a different one so let's hope they didn't lie í ½í¸©í ½í¸©í ½í¸©í ½í¸©

Hey guys I have been following this feed for a while. Fingers crossed I hope we get in. I have applied before for the spring term with not much luck lol. I decided to try my luck again. They sent out letters around OCT 17-20. So hopefully next week we can wake up early in the morning and get our acceptance letter!!!!

does anyone have any idea what kinds of specialty he/she wants to get into?

I would love to go right into a labor and delivery unit or at least a mother & baby unit! I want to become an ARNP in women's health or if not a certified nurse midwife, I'm still unsure, I would like to see firsthand their lifestyles and scope of practice before I make a decision. How about you?

I want to be an OR nurse too :). As a new grad I would like to do labor and delivery but I'll be applying everywhere.

the school clinic does all of the tests required for students. they have a package minus the flu shot itll cost around 325$ or so for everything. its 4 appts over the course of 2 wks. they do your titers and those take a wk for the lab to bring back, they do 2 ppds (which take the longest amount of time because they have to be given one week apart from each other), they do the tdap shot, and the physical. if you come back as positive in a PPD the school requires for you to get a chest xray done (the school clinic will give you a referral for a partner imaging place but that its not included in the 325$, itll be around 40/45$ for the chest xray if i remember correctly. after all exams and results come back the physician at the clinic will do the physical and sign off on all the paperwork to submit to Compleo

For those who have a BA, I believe there is another alternative then just loans, because I had a friend who recently graduated in August told me the cost of the accelerating program was over 8K and she was able to get grants, toward the program. I feel if possible look for grants now, instead of having to take out so much loans.

Thanks for the advice :)
