Is anyone here applying for the Spring 2017 semester? I've been waiting on someone to start a thread but decided to just do it myself:cat:. I have a 3.41 GPA, 2 A's and 1 B in the science prerequisites. I've completed all of my prerequisites besides statistics (currently taking). I applied about 2 weeks ago so I'm way ahead of the deadline! Any other LSON hopefuls wanting to share stats and maybe nerves:x3:? I feel like this would be a great way to communicate during this application season!
Hey! I am about to start taking statistics as one of my last pre reqs for LSON Fall 2017. I'm terribly afraid of math..not my strongest subject but I just wanted to know where you took it and how it was. I am taking it at Southwest...just not sure of what professor to take. Appreciate any feedback!
Hi! If I'm not too late responding, I would definitely recommend taking stats before you enter the program! They give preference to students who have completed all gen eds and pre reqs! I took statistics at the U of M
Im beginning to look at grad schools and University of Memphis seems to be an option. One answer I can not seem to find is where does clinicals have to be completed? Can clinicals only be completed in Tennessee?
Hi! The only clinical sites I've heard are Regional One, St. Jude, Medthodist, and Baptist! I'm not sure if it's the same for the Lambuth campus. You should definitely call and ask!
For those of you that got accepted, what were your stats (if you don't mind sharing) and if you have started the program, how do you like it, what are some things you wish you knew before starting?
Hi! My gpa was a 3.4. And I started January 17th. So far, everything is really cool! However, it's very challenging. I knew it would be but I didn't expect it to be as challenging as it is. It takes up 90% of your time. I do suggest not working when you start the program so that you can devote all of your time to studying. There are quite a few people that are working on the weekends and are able to manage. Make sure you are fully prepared when entering the program and make sure you have no distractions.
and the other 10% is sleep lolHi! My gpa was a 3.4. And I started January 17th. So far, everything is really cool! However, it's very challenging. Thank you ktee. If you don't mind sharing what was the cost of the books for the first semester and do they pick your class schedule or do you pick it for yourself?
I paid $722 for mine. Brand new. A lot of those books you will use throughout the program. From what I hear, first semester is the most expensive. So after first semester don't expect to pay anything near that amount for books. They pick your schedule. Everyone takes the same classes but they will be on different days. I was one of the lucky ones and didn't get Friday classes. í ½í¸
