I'm a Family Nurse Practitioner student, eagerly waiting to graduate in ONE year--May 2014.
People keep telling me it will fly by, but honestly, the past 2 years have NOT flown by, I feel like it's taking forever.
I finished my first clinical semester with Adult 1, and I'm about to begin Adult 2 for the summer. I feel like once the summer is over, it might feel closer to graduation because I only have clinicals with peds/womens, and then my FINAL with transitions.
I'm 28, newly married, and I want to move on with my life, get a job, and start a family!!
I work full-time in the ICU. I have off one day a week with school, work, and clinical.
I figured it would be fun to start a thread to help those along who are graduating at the same time...
Anyone else??
What type of NP program are you doing? Do you know where your clinicals are going to be? I was the same way insanely jealous of those graduating before me. lol
I am not graduating until December 2014 and am very jealous of anyone graduating in May. I am really looking forward to my clinicals though, since the assessment clinical was pretty awful and we did not do any work that actually contributed to patient care.
PedsNP, I am in an adult gerontology primary care NP program. No, I don't know where my clinicals are going to be. They do not let you know until Jan and we are not starting back until Jan 27. My program does not let us choose our preceptors, although we can "suggest." There are many local MDs that take on NPs to work with them in the nursing homes, I would love to do that and suggested a number of them for summer and fall semesters. But for spring semester, I am at the mercy of the university. I am hoping it is close to my home.

That is awesome news! I can't believe I'll be done in May. Clinicals are great. I feel like a real provider most of the time. I'm starting to look at jobs. It is very exciting/nerve wracking.
