2020 Spring Enrollment for Nursing (Hillsborough Community College)

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello,

I know some of us were discouraged to find out that we didnt get in for Fall. The cut off was the highest theyve ever seen and some were shocked to find out their true pre-req GPA. We have another chance to accomplish our dream of becoming an RN and I am hopeful we will all get in for Spring. Historically it is an easier semester to get into, last GPA cutoff for 2019 Spring was a 3.381 so there is hope. If you dont mind posting GPA and TEAS and when youve submitted the app. Round 2, lets go!

Pre-req GPA- 3.514

TEAS-67

Havnt submitted just yet, but i will be soon!

Same here I’m on 8-5 you May have to leave 4;30 /4 depending how far it is

Probably 4 just to be safe because I’ll be coming from the Brandon area to the dale Mabry campus.

@Bean27

Thank you for sharing. Even though there will probably be some challenges I’m looking forward to getting started.

@KeyaK

I applied for the Evening/Weekend Cohort due to my work schedule being 7-3:30. The evening classes begin @ 5:00. Are you able to work a flex schedule? For example... 7-4 or 7:30-4:30?

@Tiese Scott unfortunately no, the office is open 8-5. I might have to look for something that’s either 12 hour shifts or with hours similar to what you do.

@KeyaK

What a bummer.. Not sure what type of work you do. However, the only thing I can think of is maybe working in the school system at an Elementary School. If anything else comes across my mind I will let you know

Well, friends, I am very hopeful for this week ? I decided to take a mental break this weekend since I knew we wouldn't hear anything. I'm determined that it's going to be a good week, so that attitude helps! I'm going ahead and doing my CPR class on Tuesday night, just to knock it out. It's good for two years, so no matter what, it's a good thing to have. This week is pretty packed for me this week, which I think is a good thing!

Did anyone apply anywhere else?

For those needing/wanting Dale Mabry Nights/Weekends this is what the first semester schedule will look like considering you DON't have to take ENG Comp II,

Monday 05:00PM 09:00PM -NUR 1020

Tuesday 05:00PM 09:00PM -NUR 1024

Wednesday 05:00PM 09:00PM -NUR 1023C

Saturday 07:00AM 02:30PM- NUR 1020L CLINICALS

I got accepted into Polk State, but I’m hoping to get into HCC since it’ll be much closer to me.

@Mj145

Congratulations on your acceptance to Polk State

@Cmailes

I only applied to HCC as this was the best option for me. How about yourself?

@mrs_harris__

I'm hoping we hear something soon. Where are you taking your CPR course. I took the course back in June with HCC.

@niquamayers

Thanks for providing the schedule information. Does the schedule usually stay the same from semester to semester?

@Mj145 congrats!!

@Cmailes I only applied to HCC. I really need to night and weekend option and I didn't know there were any other programs out there with that schedule.

@Tiese Scott I'm taking it through HCC. Since I was able to get it at a discount, I figured why not?

@niquamayers Thanks for the info! Sounds pretty doable!

From what I can see on the Search for course YEAR I Semester II will look like

Monday 05:00PM 09:00PM -NUR 1310C

Tuesday 05:00PM 07:00PM -NUR1421C

Wednesday 05:00PM 08:00PM -NUR 1520C

-It dose not mention clinical so I would ask at orientation ALSO...

YEAR II – First Semester NUR 2205C Complex Simulation - 2 cr. You will be assigned for lab sometime between 7am-7pm, M-F .

I would also have to inquire the Clinical time because I don't even know if I can take a full day off work if we don't continue clinical Saturday , I work a cooperate job that is in Finance so there is no incentive for them to make a accommodation for school that has nothing to do with my field
