Spring 2016 El Centro College/ NLC ADN

Published

I know that it's VERY early right now to start gearing up for the Spring 2016 admission but I thought I'd start this post early seeing as I have already started taking my final classes, preparing to take the Hesi A2 test and submitting all my other documents for the program. If all goes well, I will be between 30 and 34 points. How many points do you think you'll be at when it's time to apply for the 2016 spring entry? What's the lowest score that they have accepted for previous entries? Are there any single mothers, such as I, who will be applying for the nursing program? Hope to hear more from others who are getting ready to join. Would love to get lots of feedback!!!!!

I got into the program at northlakes campus, with just 28 points! Good luck to everyone still waiting for their letters :)

I wonder what was the cut off points this time, what is the lowest yall have?

hello Kelly4isabel. I hear rumors that extra credit is offer at this program. is that true? is it the program intensive? I got accepted to North Lake and Brookhaven, but I did failed fist semester at brookhave (with less than 1 point) and if I fail again, I am out I won't be accepted again. so, my question is. What is El Centro policy if you fail.

Hello everyone. I got accepted to North Lake with 27 points. I was lucky. Do you know how the program works? I did my first semester at Brookhaven and I failed it with less than a point, they dont offer any extra credit. and if you fail, you have to apply for remediation and do all three classes again even if you passed the other two. If you fail twice, you can't reapply anymore. So that means you are done with them. So, now I don't know if should I accept Brookhaven or North Lake. any advice. do you know if El Centro does the same thing as Brookhaven?

Has anyone who lives outside of Dallas received their letters? I haven't yet, but live in suburbs, changed addresses, and hoping it's just a mail delay. The suspense is killing me!

Hey everyone, I just found out yesterday I was accepted at the Northlake campus for spring 2016!!! Congratulations to everyone and good luck, I look forward to working with everyone this spring :)

Is it true for the first semester textbooks cost a total of $3k and if so is there cheaper version of these textbooks. Thanks.

I live outside of Dallas County and I haven't received my letter yet either. Coincidentally, I also changed addresses recently. Admissions told me that the nursing program will look at the address in the DCCCD system and send it there, despite the fact that it may be different on your actual application. I hope this is the case. I even checked with the new home owner and they haven't received a letter. I think DCCCD's mail system is just slow and people in outlying regions will get it on Monday....I hope.

Thanks for the information regarding the addresses. I had hoped they would use the one in the system. Keeping my fingers crossed I receive my letter tomorrow. Good luck to you.

A second semester student said books come out to roughly 2700, but that's ebooks and actual/physical books. She also said buying the bundle at the bookstore is your best option.
