Spring Arbor, is anyone familiar with online NP program

I cannot find much info on this program...so I am posting this in hopes that someone out there who goes there will see this. The program is CCNE accredited.

I am graduating with my ADN, RN soon. I want to begin the journey toward becoming a nurse practitioner while working as an RN ASAP due to my age. I will be 40 soon and so I don't feel like I have time to waste! They have one of of the few affordable online programs that I can find that do not require you to have 1-2 years RN experience before applying. I am trying to decide whether to go with Spring Arbor or Texas Tech.

So, if anyone has experience with their RN to MSN//Adult-Gerontology,Primary Care Nurse Practitioner program, I would love to hear about it!

Thank you!

Hello!

I am in their AGNP program, only one year left (I have a BSN already, so I can't speak to the ADN to NP bridge program). It has been going well so far! It's mainly online, so you get out of it what you put in! You are required to find your own preceptors, which I haven't had a problem with. The best part for me was that it is 3 years, so I was/am able to still work full time! Are you in Michigan?

I was accepted for the January 2016 AGNP program, but I have delayed my start date to March, 2016. One of the reasons I have delayed my start date is because I am not able to access key information about the program. The web site is limited, but I find my admission advisor to be very kind and supportive. I want to know the details of pass rates, how courses are delivered, and so on. Considering the level of education and the investment of our time and money, I think it is well within our duty as prospective students to know exactly what we are offered from a school. I have not found anything negative about the program, and will probably attend, but the struggle I have found to gather information has been a big red flag for me.

Specializes in ER.

One student told us that their adult-geri was 91% pass rate first time. FNP is too new for pass rates. I think my semester is their first FNP

Thank you, MiNurse and applesxoranges! I am concerned about working and attending school. Do you find that you are able to study as much as you need? I hear so much about "what you put into online programs is what you get out," so I am just wondering if you feel you're able to put in what you need?
