Although we are just starting out, have any of you thought about what specialty you will go into? I know it's early and we may change our minds, but as of right now........ what specialty are you considering?

Specializes in NICU, Trauma, Oncology.

Hem/onc research, preferably Peds.

I think I want to be a hospice nurse, but I'd also like to work labor and delivery. Very familiar with that area after five kids:)

Right now the ultimate goal is Psych NP, but I won't lie- as a guy, every time the Vanderbilt LifeFlight flies by I think that flight nurse would be absolutely awesome...

lol i absolutely agree!!

Hmm. I think I want to specialize in cardiology or orthopedic not sure. I have always wanted to do labor and delivery but that is so clique.

Specializes in hospice.

There is a CNM in my town who runs a freestanding birth center and home birth service. That's right up my alley. I currently am a hospice CNA and can see myself staying with my company as a nurse. I've also considered school nursing since I love my kids' charter school and would love to work for them.
