What type of student were you with your prerequisites?

I ask to better gauge how I will perform.

Can you offer some helpful tips&tricks?

And if y'all have any questions, let me know :)

My GPA was 3.76 getting into the program. It is a completely different type of learning in nursing school. Some find it easier, some find it harder.

I would suggest staying ahead. Make friends because you WILL get resources from them. Study guides and helpful tools travel fast around the classroom.

I am also in the evening program, so if you want a faster paced program, go for evenings. Evening classses go through the summer so you graduate a semester earlier than days.

And if y'all have any questions, let me know :)

What time did you receive your email? :-)

3:15pm

LOL! Going to be a LONG day... Thanks!!

Do you receive financial aid? How much actual out of pocket expenses were there before the semester started? The expense sheet looks scary, I've been saving of course, just want to make sure I won't have to sell my first born to get everything I need before school starts lol. Also thanks so much for hopping on here and helping us out!

The only out of pocket I paid for right off the bat was the drug test and background check. I think that was about $100-150. The expense sheet is not exactly accurate. You don't HAVE to buy all of the books that they claim. Some are optional and honestly, I NEVER got the optional books and have made A's throughout every semester. Also they estimate that your immunizations will cost 1000$. Most people living in the United States have a majority if not ALL the immunizations and will not need to pay for it again. So that is a HUGE chunk to minus out of the estimated costs. Clinical lab attire claims 275.00. For me it only cost 150 depending on how many uniforms you want.

I do receive financial aid because my mom retired and has no income. So I received the maximum amount and never had to pay out of pocket for classes. Everyone's financial aid is different though depending on financial situations.

The first semester my tuition was $1413.22 not counting books. The books were maybe 500-600.

Thank you so much! That is a huge relief! I was hoping they were over estimating on all of the expenses, you just helped my anxiety level go from 100 to a 99 lol. Awesome job on your progress too!!!

Mel, I currently have a 4.0 CUM, to be honest, I'm literally .05% intimidated by nursing school. I'm more excited about getting it over so I can hurry up and work on my BSN, as well as, experience.

All A's, that is fantastic!

I will be doing nights as well, I am also opting for Bay Pines VA
