SPC nursing 2015

U.S.A. Florida

Hi everyone!

This is my first official post, but I've been creeping around for quite some time now, ha! I just applied to SPC's nursing program for Spring of 2015. I still have to take micro, but I figured I'd apply anyway. Has anyone recently been accepted prior to taking micro? Also what was the average GPA for last semester applicants?

I went yesterday as well and found out that the counselor had not entered my ACT scores even though he had checked it off my list and said I was 100% good to go. I am IN. I would strongly advise anyone in the future to make sure you have proof in writing as I did to prove that you were told invalid information. Now to figure and fulfill all the certified profile duties. I am SO excited to meet everyone and get this show on the road!

That's wonderful! Make sure you fill out the Notice of Intent! I went down to the HEC yesterday to see what exactly needed to be done by the 15th and I was told that the only thing that needs to be done is the drug and background screening, and the notice of intent. I'm unsure if that includes the fingerprint scanning, but I went ahead and did that anyway. It's real quick and simple. :)

I already paid for the background check through the link they sent us, so that is done automatically, correct? Going to get fingerprints done tomorrow as well as getting the flu shot and tb test done. Also, my friend Ryan and I are trying to look up times to do the CPR as well as locations if anyone would like to do it with us and/ or has any helpful info on that. Appreciate all the help from everyone.

Yes they start background check automatically after you log in and pay. Some of my results are already posted. You can see results and what is pending. And yes we have to do fingerprinting as part of it. I too have started on shots and tests. Make sure you do the two step TB - have to go back and repeat 1-3 weeks apart. And I posted earlier about CPR which has to be AHA for healthcare providers. I'm so excited and a little scared. My friends who are in now say it's tough.

Yes, the background check is automatic once you pay. Keep me posted on the CPR, I might be interested in going. I've been looking around for the cheapest rate. I didn't see a form that needed to be filled out on the Certified Profile for the immunizations. I wonder if we need to get something in writing when it comes to the flu shot, TB test, etc. I almost want to wait on all of that until the instructions are given more clearly at the orientation.

There's a form for physical that your doctor completes and it has all the spaces for tests, vaccines and results. So if you get done at multiple places just get proof (they have state approved forms if you go different places). I'm guessing we will learn more at orientation but I had all results ordered or sent to my PCP so he can complete their form and then I can attach all lab results. CPR tomorrow for me :)

My CPR was great - she helped us a lot so we could pass written, let us out early and was interesting and very straightforward. She was also cheapest I found - only $45. It was called teachmenow.

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if we need to DO anything with the results from the drug and background checks? I received my results in my "messages" but I'm not sure if I need to somehow forward the results? Or can SPC access this info on their own?

Looking forward to meeting you all on Thurs!

I am pretty sure they have access to our certified profiles to view what we have done/ uploaded.

Ok, so I guess my question is: do we need to upload these results??

No. Once done, we just have to wait until the school acknowledges our information and updates our Certified Profile. Reading previous posts, it can take a while to see updates so as long as you had your fingerprints and drug test done, you're good. Don't worry. And remember, we can ask questions on Thursday so just come with a list.

Ok perfect. Thank you!
