SPC nursing 2015

U.S.A. Florida

Hi everyone!

This is my first official post, but I've been creeping around for quite some time now, ha! I just applied to SPC's nursing program for Spring of 2015. I still have to take micro, but I figured I'd apply anyway. Has anyone recently been accepted prior to taking micro? Also what was the average GPA for last semester applicants?

The book bundle is only at the book store. You actually get two bundles if you buy from them. You need help to carry it out - it's a lot and the skills kit comes in a duffel bag. As for shoes I've read on boards here about all kinds - I ended up just getting the kswiss at scrubs and such where I got the scrubs. I'll stick a pair of good inserts in and be fine. I heard Peltz shoes has a good selection as well as a lot of people liked the sketchers. Nursing brands included Dansko and Sanita (I'm not a clog person yet - plus they have to have closed back so I'm starting with athletic shoe).

I have days at Morton Plant. Is anyone planning on going to the HCA expansion meeting/interview next week?

I'm a generic day student (did get MPM Clearwater) but not expansion so I don't think we do same things. I signed up for the ATI testing next Wednesday. I was wondering if anyone is doing that and/or received any info. The nursing commons group still hasn't shown up in Angel. I did pay my fees already so that's not it.

I'm taking the test this Wednesday. We know all we need to know as long as you signed up at the orientation. We have to arrive by 7:50 at the latest or will have to reschedule and the test is in rm 269 in the lab. You have to bring either SPC ID or DL. No personal belongings or phones is best.

FYI, Alternate letters are in! I got in!

FYI...The ADN College of Nursing Commons is now up on Angel.

Did you see the size of the syllabi!? They are both over 200 pages. The handbook is also out there. I think they are for entire 2014-15 year but some of the signature pages say fall so I guess we will find out. There's also extra training for Baycare sites. Does anyone know if we can do now?

Has anyone actually gotten their fingerprints accepted yet? I have had it done for 3 weeks now and still nothing.

I think they all show that until the school does something. In other threads from prior semesters they had same complaint. I hate that I get weekly reminders and I can't do any more in the list - one requires teacher signature and the other two are from the fall syllabus and handbook and I'm not sure if we can use those forms :)

MyCourses is up. Here's the link to begin the tutorial so you'll know how to use the system when our classes are uploaded:

Your login/password is the same as your MySpc.

I just finished semester 1 so if ya'll have questions I'm happy to answer them!

So far as the BayCare training, you can't start that until you fill out paperwork like 2 weeks before you start clinicals. Then they'll get you into the BayCare system so you can start.

Congrats to everyone who got in!

The fingerprint section on my Certified Profile is finally listed as complete!
