SPC Nursing Fall 2018

U.S.A. Florida

Hey Everyone!

Thought I would be the first person to start a SPC Nursing Fall 2018 thread. Even though we still have one semester left before applying, I thought I would start a thread to get the ball rolling and to see where everyone stands. If are applying for the program in Fall of 2018, please let us know the amount of credits you will have at the time of applying and what your cumulative and program GPA's are. As for me, I will have 30 of 30 credits completed and a cumulative GPA of 3.9, with a program GPA of 4.0.

I couldn't find either the Davis or Fundamentals package through Amazon at all, but I did go ahead and order all four of them individually from there. The actual Davis drug guide wont be here until Tuesday but at least the Fundamentals book & workbook will be here tomorrow because the first week's assigned readings that I received in my MyCourses email is from that book and I absolutely did not want to risk not having that by the first day. Thank gosh for free 2-day shipping hahaha.

The book store is going to have the fundamentals books? They said they weren't going to have it.

Hi everyone, when I got my textbooks I received an Elsevier Access Card. However, I read when my course opened up that I need to bring a SimChart Access Card and an Adaptive Quizzing Card? Does anyone know what books these were in? I still have not received the Davis package but I didn't think that they would be in those two. Thanks!

I only got the Elsevier Access Card also, so I am not entirely sure either.

The access card that is in the package gives you access to the SimChart and Adaptive Quizzing. Just follow the directions on the card to register and you should be good to go!

No Amazon has them. That's where I ordered them from haha.

Classes are up, but for the life of me, I don't know how to figure out who's in my clinical group, lab, or theory classes or even who my instructors are. I'm thinking that the classlist for the specific section # is your clinical group, but then they have everyone divided up into groups and I am in group #1. Hopefully someone that has been through this level can provide some insight on how this works.

So, on our book list there is an access card for adaptive quizzing for pharmacology and the nursing process and an access card for SimChart, but I never received those in the book package.

I called the bookstore and they said the access card we received will have all three access codes included in the one code? Something like that.

Thank you so much!

So guys I am a bit confused... I know that some of you got an email regarding what to read in preparation for the first day/week but I did not receive that email. Is there any other place we can find what to read before class?? I just don't want to get behind the ball the first day

If you look in the clinical guide and theory modules, they list the reading assignments. They both can be found in the nursing commons under modules and handbook and then NUR 1021C Modules Fall 2018. The clinical guide is the first link and the theory modules fall under it by unit number. I am going to print out both.

Yes, if you enter that access code on the Elsevier/Evolve website, it gives you access to the adaptive quizzes and the SimChart. You have to register first I believe.

Here are the instructions for registering and all that...https://mycourses.spcollege.edu/d2l/le/content/186988/viewContent/7525338/View

I never got an email like that either so I wouldn't worry about it.
