SPC Nursing Fall 2018

Published

Hey Everyone!

Thought I would be the first person to start a SPC Nursing Fall 2018 thread. Even though we still have one semester left before applying, I thought I would start a thread to get the ball rolling and to see where everyone stands. If are applying for the program in Fall of 2018, please let us know the amount of credits you will have at the time of applying and what your cumulative and program GPA's are. As for me, I will have 30 of 30 credits completed and a cumulative GPA of 3.9, with a program GPA of 4.0.

Has anyone clicked on the textbook link to see all the books and materials that we need? My jaw was on the floor! I really hope we do not need everything on that list. Hopefully they tell us in orientation.

No, I'm waiting until after orientation. There might be info in the instructions from the admissions email.

This may have been discussed already, but has anyone gotten their physical already? Did anyone go to SPC to get it? I heard they do them for free but when I call, no one knows what I am talking about.

I am also in the night program with Felicia Pryby for everything! Looking forward to meeting everyone and getting a good study group together!!

Congrats! Where is your clinical site?

In the admission email it said they have free physicals for current SPC students through their partnership with the NUHS and the number they gave was 341-3760. I still scheduled mine after orientation in case they want to give any further information, but I'd give that number a try :)

Oh my gosh yes. What an overwhelming list hahaha. Some of them look like packages for other books listed and some of them only say recommended so lets hope we don't need them all! I'm not buying anything until they tell me to at orientation or the first day of class LOL.

Yes, the NUHS is right on the campus of the Health Education Center at 7200 66th Street N.

I know! I always wait until the instructor tells me what I need because I have bought books in the past and never used them. I hope they go over this at orientation.

I hope so too. I have always waited until the instructor told me to get something because, for example, my psychology class had a book attached to it on MySPC but we didn't used it because my professor provided all the reading content for us online. But I think we will need our books within the first week of class from reading comments on other forums so I don't want them to be sold out by the time I want to buy them haha!

Definitely! I am hoping that my instructor is at the orientation so that I can ask her. I don't want to be scrambling trying to buy all these books last minute.
