SPC Nursing Fall 2018

Published

Hey Everyone!

Thought I would be the first person to start a SPC Nursing Fall 2018 thread. Even though we still have one semester left before applying, I thought I would start a thread to get the ball rolling and to see where everyone stands. If are applying for the program in Fall of 2018, please let us know the amount of credits you will have at the time of applying and what your cumulative and program GPA's are. As for me, I will have 30 of 30 credits completed and a cumulative GPA of 3.9, with a program GPA of 4.0.

In MyCourses, they have already provided the College of Nursing Student Commons for us. It contains some really valuable information. Under the Books list, it provides you with what is included in those expensive packages on the TEXTBOOK link. These packages seem to contain most of the books on the list, in either print copy, ebook copy, or a combination of both. Personally, I prefer the print copy of books. Also, there are clinical guides that you can look at to get an idea of what we will be learning in each level. My head is spinning after browsing through it!

guys!!! Help! I cannot find a flu shot anywhere and i did not get one this past year because they said it wasn't as effective. can anyone tell me where they (recently) have gotten their flu shot???

On a side note, I got nights, yay! With Felicia Pryby. Hopefully some of us can meet at orientation and start planning/forming a study group.

We don't need the flu shot until the new one comes out for this year. Not sure exactly when it comes out, but I think it's sometime in August. Are you at Palms?

No problem! I have Felicia Pryby too, but I'm doing nights at Palms. My lecture/lab is with her though at HEC. The clinical days are Tuesdays and Wednesday's, 1-11 pm. Monday's and Thursday's, we are in the classroom at HEC from like 3-5 or 3-6.

Awesome!! Thank you.

I'm in the same for nights at Health South. Mon: 3-5 Tues & Wed: 3-11 and Thurs: 3-6pm.

I know someone who completed Nursing I in the spring and she said they only used Fundamentals book, Nanda book (Nursing diagnosis book), Davis drug book, and Interpersonal communication book. Also, 3 online codes: Elsevier Sim chart, pharmacology, and Med surg. She bought every single book and she said they only used these listed. The online codes will be brought up first week of class.

Awesome!! Thank you.

Hi! I am in the same, Felicia Pryby at Health South Nights. My class number is 2333.

I'm just so excited I got nights! It's a bit far for me (I live in south St. Pete), but hey, I'm willing to make the drive for that schedule!!

Has anyone else had trouble with making an appointment on the Daontis website for the fingerprints? It will get to the page with the locations but the site just refreshes when I try to select an option. I have tried multiple browsers, not sure what is going on.

Ahhh, that book list cleared some things up, and I also prefer print books. There is so much stuff in the course content! Where did you find the clinical guides? There's so many things I must have missed it haha.

Different instructors may require different books, not sure. I will be trying to find out at orientation if they do not cover it. I hate buying books that I'll never use. Haha

If you go into Table of Contents and then scroll down a bit, it is under Modules and Handbook. There is a link for Nursing 1021C Fall 2018. It is quite head spinning at first. haha!

We're in the same section!! I didn't have issues with that in particular, but i did have to log out and back in a couple times for the website to work.
