SPC Fall 2019

Published

Hey, everyone! I've been looking for a thread about fall applications for SPC Nursing program, but nothing yet! It may be early, since the application period just started on March 1st, but here we go! I applied as soon as it opened , and I'm crossing my fingers until the July 1st. Anyone else applied or planning to do it soon? Let me know your thoughts and plans, we are all together in this one ? .

I haven't done the MLP yet either. My SPC portal for the next semester under My Plan did change to nursing already.

Are we supposed to do the MLP before orientation?

I don’t think we need it done before orientation. I just wanted to get it done and when I checked the SPC website, nothing changed. Maybe things will not change until next week.

Does your plan say “Nursing”

mine says nursing focus. That’s what it has always said.

Mine says fall term 2018-2019, so it has not changed

Yeah mine just says "Nursing" and under subplan says " TRADRN". It wasn't there before so I guess mine wasn't updated

I’ll send an email to check on that. ?

We should do it before orientation, that’s how they will see that you are doing everything promptly on time. I went down to HEC and saw Tammy last week, she said they will look at what everyone has done until the orientation, basically we can do all of it, except the shots that require 2 sequences and the school forms that we will get when we start. All the other stuff should be done before orientation.

As far as the flu shot, we can’t really get it now, since that would be last years’, so we have to wait for the new season, which I think it starts after July 20th or beginning of August, something like that.

Plus it literally takes 2 minutes

I have a copy of my childhood vaccines and I’ve already had hep B, Tdap, MMR vaccines, I had the chicken pox as a kid. I got my titers tested at the health department but haven’t gotten my results back. Am I okay?? How many of you had to get another MMR series?

I’ll do my titers next week, and then I’ll know what I need. Hopefully just a flu shot lol. Anyways, don’t worry, we have time, I think vaccines matter when we start clinicals at the hospital, so that’s still far away.
