SPC Fall 2019

Published

Hey, everyone! I've been looking for a thread about fall applications for SPC Nursing program, but nothing yet! It may be early, since the application period just started on March 1st, but here we go! I applied as soon as it opened , and I'm crossing my fingers until the July 1st. Anyone else applied or planning to do it soon? Let me know your thoughts and plans, we are all together in this one ? .

the total for vaccines were about $118

Were the vaccinations expensive? I know the health dept is the cheapest route.

It depends on what all you need. There are several and just the TB test is $25. The health department has a chart with the costs of each on the website

the TB test was $25. TDAP was $57.94 and the rest were $5

That’s less than I was thinking. Thank you!

has anyone gotten their flu vaccine yet? I never received it before and now that I am looking for a place to get it done no one has it. I have called all walgreens and CVS pharmacies in my area. Health dept doesn't have them and my Dr. neither. Everyone keeps telling me the new vaccines are coming until August. Does anyone know if we can start school without having this vaccine?

Yes, we can start without the current flu vaccine. I did not get one last year, so I am not current either

I am negative for varicella. I need both of the repeat series (1&2). Did anyone get that done yet? I looked on the health dept website and it says $136.41. I need 2 of them (28 days apart). Am I looking at that wrong?

we have to have that one done too?

Not everyone will need it. My titers came back negative, so I need the repeats series. It just seems pricey ?

My academic status and advisor have not changed on the SPC website. Is that something that is supposed to change next week after orientation? Also, has anyone done the MLP? I assume I cannot do it until my status changes.

I just looked at my childhood vaccinations. I did have the varicella (Varivax) repeat series. Hopefully it meets the requirement for Castle Branch because that will save me some money.
