Hello! I have not seen any posts for the Fall 2016 at St. Pete College yet!
Probably because it is too early.
Anyone else applying?
Stats?
I have a 3.5 Prereq GPA, and 3.7 Cumulative GPA.
I am in the night program (which goes through the summer, days do not). Our classes don't start any time before 1pm and they can keep us as late as 11pm (although this semester they haven't). I think day program starts around 6am and can go til 3pm. From what I remember, days had a larger variety of choices for clinical sites for Level 1 than nights did. They give you a list of sites and you put them in order of what you prefer. I think the higher your rank for getting in the program (based on the point scale) is how they place you, but most everyone I know got their first choice. You don't get to pick your clinical site after first semester, but for the most part they *try* to keep you at the same hospital. So far, it has been the absolute hardest thing I've ever done, but also the best. I think whether or not you "have no life" honestly depends on you. They tell you to quit your job and things like that but there are some people who work full time and still manage so in my opinion it's a personal thing and it's gonna be what you make it, But it's definitely difficult!
My anxiety level is through the roof lol. I need to be in the night program because of families schedule, do you attend classes m-for during the summer? What is level 2..pharmacology? I am super excited, and super scared! Is it true that you have to pass w an 80 on all your test or you get kicked out?
Level 2 and Pharm are two different classes, so different instructors and assignment list, etc. but yes, you take them together. You don't have to get an 80 on every single test but you need an 80 to pass the class. Which is a C in nursing school (totally sucks lol). They give you the grading scale of how many points you need to get an A, a B, or a C in the beginning so as long as you keep track of it throughout the semester you're good. A lot of people told me this before I got in, but it's difficult to prepare for the program and to know what to expect. Nursing school is so different from any other kind of schooling and I don't think you can fully grasp that until you're there lol, but if I can ease at least a bit of anxiety about what's to come I'm happy to help, I was there once too :)
They send it over email right? And is it usually one orientation then a wait until August 15th for classes to start? It's right smack dab in the middle of wedding festivities, so I was thinking, that is if i get in, possibly flying back down, going to orientation, then flying back up
Yep.

Hi BB1235! so glad you stopped in. Do you have any idea what the schedule is like for night vs day classes..and where the clinical sites are that we can choose from. I know I'm getting ahead of myself not knowing if I'm accepted yet lol. Thank you for any info you can give. How has your experience been thus far..hard, teachers that sucks, no life..etc??? I hear so many horror stories.
