SPC Fall 2016

Published

Hello! I have not seen any posts for the Fall 2016 at St. Pete College yet!

Probably because it is too early.

Anyone else applying?

Stats?

I have a 3.5 Prereq GPA, and 3.7 Cumulative GPA.

Yeah, after orientation you don't have to do anything else until school starts except work on getting the list of vaccines and stuff done. Also, just a suggestion, but I wouldn't rely too heavily on whatever they have posted about classes quite yet. They tend to only make certain classes visible to students and change things pretty frequently. Our schedule for Level 1 was M: 3-5, T: 1-11, W: 1-11, Th: 3-6 and then optional test review 6-7, no classes friday. It always says 1-11 for clinical but that is up to whoever your instructor is so it could be different. Some groups had 2-10, some had 3-11, etc. It just depends on whatever they decide.

Yeah and I don't even see anything for a day schedule

Oh, also the only test we had the first week was just a little math quiz to see how much you know. It wasn't anything major :)

I thought the class time would be a lot longer...thank goodness it's not.

:nailbiting: guess I should brush up on by algebra.

The first 8 weeks of level 1 you're at school learning skills, so it does get a little tiring being at school for so long but you'll get through it. The math is not anything as hard as algebra lol, and they teach you pretty much all of it. It's things like how to calculate drip rates for IV's and how to figure out how many pills to give people.

Lol phew, I thought I was going to have to remove the cobb webs from my algebra book! BB1235, you have been great at answering all our questions, thank you! I have to run a tight ship at home and not knowing what my life is going to be like for the next year was driving me crazy!

Last year people started receiving letters on June 30

REALLY!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I have my email forwarded to my phone...still waiting lol. I readon't the same thing in last falls post too!

Doesn't look like it's today lol

It would make sense for them to send it out today...oh well. So I'm curious..anyone know how they determine between candidates that have same gpa?? What would the "tie" breaker I wonder..

I've thought about this in terms of what if they happened to have 90+ applicants with 4.0s. Surely they would request more information from the applicants? I can't imagine them doing it by coin flip
