SPC 2021 Fall Applicants

Nursing Students School Programs

Hey everyone! Looking for anyone else applying for SPC's Fall 2021 program ?

I know the open application period doesn't start till march 1st but I thought I would see if any one else is sharing the anxiety with me. LOL

Hey there! I will be applying for the Fall 2021 program as well. I'm not submitting my application until the end of Spring semester, since I'm still in the throes of my pre-reqs...but if it all stays as it is right now, I'll be applying with a 4.0 GPA with 26/30 credits completed (taking Micro over the Summer).

My GPA is obviously as solid as it gets, but that's a lot of missing credits—so I've pretty much convinced myself I'll end up an alternate. Fingers crossed that I'm wrong though!! Definitely sharing the anxiety with you LOL.

Hi,

I submitted my application as well. I was going to wait to apply for Spring 2022 because I'm taking Micro this Summer, but figured I may as well go for it.

I also applied for the ABSN program at USF. They only accept applications once a year for the St. Pete program so I figured why not try.

Waiting till July to hear back from either program is going to be rough!

Hi there!

I am currently taking Pre-reqs for Nursing Program in a community college in California. I want to move to Florida in Spring 2022 and apply to SPC in Fall of 2021. Do you know other colleges (except SPC) that have the Nursing program that I can apply to. Also, do you know how many units we can retake so we still get accepted into Nursing Program?

Thanks a lot.

Hey yourself. Since you will not qualify for in-state tuition (I believe you have to be a Florida resident for an entire year before you qualify for it), you are not limited to the public schools the way I am limiting myself. There are several RN schools in the Tampa Bay area. The public schools where you can pursue nursing are St. Petersburg College, University of South Florida, and Hillsborough Community College (HCC is a program that feeds into USF). University of Tampa is a private school that has an excellent nursing program as well. There are also numerous private, for-profit schools in the area, such as Galen College of Nursing, South University, Jersey College, etc. Those programs are generally not as competitive as the programs at SPC, USF, and UT are. Hope this helps!

thanks, do you also think having an CNA experience will give me more chance to get into Nursing Program?

Hi all - have you guys submitted applications? Any info on when we would select the day or night track?

Hey everyone! I'm so glad there is others here ? I must have had the notifications turned off on my post because I didn't even know people were replying.

Sooo I applied for Spring last semester but I was missing Micro and Stats (that I was taking at the time applications we being submitted) so I pretty much knew that I wasn't going to get picked last time.

After the application period closes they are going to send out an email with a Zoom meeting link on it to everyone that applied (this doesnt mean you got accepted). At this meeting they are going to show a powerpoint with a bunch of info on it and then they will let us ask any questions at the end. So keep a look out on your SPC email!!

Lumborum - Im not sure if already being CNA will help you out unless it comes down to an interview. Now I only says this because I didn't see any area on the application where we could write anything about ourselves so I'm not sure how the school would know this info to put into their decision. Although if it comes down to a couple people they said they will do interviews to help make their decision and here is where mentioning you are a CNA would probably help.. they don't always do interviews tho so that's all up in the air. As for applying for SPC when you live out of state will be hard for you to get in, I know they choose people that live in Pinellas (the county that SPC is located in) first before they start picking people that live in the surrounding areas, normally there are so many people that live in Pinellas that they never accept people that lives anywhere else... so my advise would be to move here first prove residency and then apply. This is only for SPC tho.. all the other schools that NikiB mentioned above will accept people no matter where they live. Good Luck!!

Honeyxdip- They will talk about this in the powerpoint but after you get accepted they will have you fill something out that lists your preferred hospital for clinicals and your preference on day or evening classes.. now of course this doesn't guarantee that you get your picks but I think the Spring people mostly got what they wanted.

I applied as well and anxiously waiting til July! ?

Has anyone received an email yet about the info seminar?

Hi everyone! I also applied to SPC for the fall. My GPA is a 3.678 or 3.7 rounded, I am a Pinellas county resident, and I have all classes completed.

I applied for Spring of 2021, which I got accepted into, but I had to decline my offer because of the birth of my daughter ☺️

I am currently accepted into Galen for a July start, but they are soooooo expensive LOL. So I applied again to SPC. I haven’t got any email about the seminar yet @SeaTurtle21

Hello!

Our GPA is similar so that gives me some hope you were already previously accepted. ? Congrats on your baby girl! ? Yes those private schools have such a high tuition rate!

Thanks for answering my question, I was hoping I wasn’t the only one to not receive anything yet LOL
