SPC College

Published

Hello, I have finished my prerequisites, and applied for the A.S Nursing at SPC College. My GPA is 3.800, so I hope it is good enough to be accepted. I will be notified by July 1st. Now I have nothing to do until July, and I have no idea what to expect? Like for example, what textbooks will I be needing? Maybe I can do some reading, just to get a hint of what to expect. So can anyone that have "been there, done that" give me some advice, and maybe a name of few books to leaf through? Thank you!

Where do we do drug and background screening?

Instructions are at the "certified profile" website, follow the instructions in the email to register and it should be there

Yep, I just figured that out. I am currently working on it. Thanks :).

Did you apply to the LVN or RN program?

AS-Nursing which prepares me to be a RN.

Not complaining, but there is soooo much to do! Trying to decide whether I take the antibody titers or get some vaccinations since I haven't had any in a long time... Anybody signed up for a CPR class locally?

Not yet. Trying to figure out how/where to sign up. I looked it up on the AHA website, is that what you did?

I haven't even looked at the website...lol! Just trying to figure out if there is a preferred place that most students attend.

Let me know if you find out. I am probably just going to wait until orientation to find out, since all that needs to be done by that point is the drug test & background check.

Hello everyone, I have good news ;). I have just registered for CPR class, here is the info. Fire department offers BLS/ CPR for healthcare. $40 cash or check only. Saturday July 18th. Class starts 8:30 am-1:00 pm. Address: 400 Dr. MLKing Jr St S. Here is the website: SPFR Business Information

You will find a phone number there to call and register, or you can call Susan at: 893-7076. Only 3 are in the class right now, she said "the more the merrier", so anyone coming?

Hi, It's me...again . I just looked up SPC bookstore online, typed class 1021c, and got a list of about 35 required textbooks :sour:! Does this sound right? We need 35 textbooks?! :wideyed:?

Hi Everyone! I've been following this thread for sometime now, I was accepted to start the RN program at SPC also! and I have so many questions but am so excited at the same time! There is so much to get done, I can't believe it!! The only things I plan on having done by orientation is the background and the drug test and I am hoping that they will point us in some sort of direction for everything else! Just an FYI, I know some people who started in the spring and the first set of books they told me if purchased at the book store was well over $1000 including the skills kit which you have to get at the bookstore! So be prepared also I was advised if thats where I pick up my books from to bring someone with me.. It's that many books.
