Hey All! Who's going to the workshops next week?
-
SPC College
Seems like nowadays everyone wants to charge you for things you don't need! Am I looking at this wrong or did I miss something during orientation, but my schedule shows only a few hours for "lecture" on Mon & Thurs? Surely we will be spending more time on lecture than that.

Trivine1, Are you sure it will take a couple of weeks to get your titer results? I did mine in the doctor's office, then they sent it out to LabCorp, and got back to me with the results within a day or two.

Trivine1, Surprisingly it was fast & fun! We had a pretty humorous & down-to-earth instructor; she made it interesting. We went 6-9pm. I hear ya on the shots...definitely NOT fun! I've been checking for updates, too. Is anyone else finding that site a bit of a mess?! Maybe it's just me... I just want to be able to send the syllabus to print @ Office Depot. Had to buy a bookcase to store all the textbooks (which I haven't purchased yet). Now, I need to go find a cart to transfer them back & forth...

Are we going to be notified when the syllabus and handbook are updated?

Trivine1, I posted earlier, but I guess it didn't take... I hope my CPR class is as fun & fast as yours was! My class is tonite (7/21). Btw, I ended up having to get the MMR vaccine as my antibody count was low. It didn't hurt when the nurse stuck me, but it sure did burn when it went in.

Trivine1, So how was your CPR class? Do you need to have the manual?

Oops! Most likely you will be on the updated side of the hospital. And hopefully, they renovate the ER soon! Congrats!

Haven't received anything here, either. In our acceptance letter, it states: "Registration for your classes will take place at this orientation. To assist in scheduling preferences, please familiarize yourself with the local hospitals and Healthcare networks such as HCA and Baycare."

Stacey, Holiday Inn Express located @ 210 Seminole Blvd. Here is a link to the info: https://www.inpulsecpr.com/class-sign-up?ee=3153 Also, I read on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/InPulseCPR?fref=ts "Our CPR101 code expires July 31st. This code gets you $5 off of registration, so sign up soon!" I tried it and it works. FYI: I think there is major road work being done down East Bay, so you won't be able to go straight down & turn on Seminole; you will have to go over to Ulmerton. Hope that helps!

Trivine1, I'm not much of a early morning person (especially on a Sat.), but if I can't find a more appealing start time, then I might resort to that class. I found a class on 7/21 from 6-10 pm in Largo (Seminole Blvd). Btw, thanks for the info!

I haven't even looked at the website...lol! Just trying to figure out if there is a preferred place that most students attend.
