Helene Fuld College of Nursing in Manhattan has a Spanish for Medical Professionals Class in October. Call their continuing ed department. You can google it.

MrsC any luck finding a class, I'd be interested too?
Not much luck at all. I ended up purchasing from the "spectrum of nursing" spanish for nurses under their continuing education page. I also bought the Kaplan book as well - which I found to be a great tool for the essentials.
I think, I'm not sure, Adelphi University offers spanish for nurses and classes might be offered soon. Now the problem is, "when do i have time outside of work to attend theses classes. ugh - rosetta stone is soooo expensive too :banghead::banghead:
So the Helene Fuld Spanish class wasn't available? I remember seeing on the site that the class would be offered in October.

Check with Lehman College continuing ed department, I know they offer a Spanish class for healthcare professionals. Also, check with the Suny distance learning network.

good luck.
To Mrs.C, I dont know what part of NY you are from but I found another class at Kingsboro College in Brooklyn. Also, if you do a google search of learn spanish online, youll find some free sites that are helpful. The site 123teachme.com has medical focused terms that are also useful as well as studentsofmedicine.com/medicalspanish.htm

You guys might want to check with El Taller LatinAmericano, on the upper west side. If they don't give a class I'm betting they'll e able to point you to one.

I have removed all of the posts referring to immigrants needing to learn our language, on both sides of the argument. If you made one of these posts, please consider that that was not the topic of the original post and did not serve to advance the discussion of said original post. Thank you.
