Hey guys. Making this for those who are applying to SWC’s (Chula Vista, CA) ADN program for Fall 2020. Application period starts soon (November 4)! Write your questions to help each other out throughout the application period. If you want, post the amount of points you have in the point system.
Here’s the amount of points I have
Associates Degree - 5 points
CNA Certification - 25 points
Science Prereq GPA - 30 points (4.0 GPA)
”Fixed Set” GPA - 8 points (3.9 GPA)
Life Experience - 3 points
Language - 3 points (Spanish, documented proficiency)
TEAS test - 15-22 points ... I still need to take the TEAS. I want to give myself enough time!
So that puts me at 89-96/100 points.
Years of hard work into one packet... and now we wait.
Currently freaking out! All clinicals have been canceled due to the coronavirus, I’m wondering if they are going to have to move our applications back another year! ?

Okay so I have been low key worried and thinking about this nonstop haha. But let’s not speak it into existence!! Hopefully this doesn’t happen. NOT downplaying the virus but we have five whole months before the August fall semester would start. So let’s just think positively :)
So, I called last week because I was not sure what was going to happen. The lady I spoke with said that the applications depended on whether they allowed them back in to review. Hopefully they are allowed to continue to review them and maybe find out later.
At that point she did not say the cohort was being canceled.
I'm planning on calling the week after "Spring break" and get an update.

I haven't been able to get an update. The phone number goes directly to voicemail. I tried a secondary number that a guy gave me when I called Southwestern's main number but also no answer.
They should at least provide us with some kind of update. At this point we may have just have to wait and see what happens.

Does anyone know if the clinicals are cancelled for this semester or if they are doing them online?
I have a friend in the program who’s in her first year and she said that the lectures have been online but the clinicals are currently on hold. They are still trying to sort it all out so their class and the graduating class are able to earn clinical hours. We shall see! I will update you guys if I hear more from her ?
