Hey guys. Making this for those who are applying to SWC’s (Chula Vista, CA) ADN program for Fall 2020. Application period starts soon (November 4)! Write your questions to help each other out throughout the application period. If you want, post the amount of points you have in the point system.
Here’s the amount of points I have
Associates Degree - 5 points
CNA Certification - 25 points
Science Prereq GPA - 30 points (4.0 GPA)
”Fixed Set” GPA - 8 points (3.9 GPA)
Life Experience - 3 points
Language - 3 points (Spanish, documented proficiency)
TEAS test - 15-22 points ... I still need to take the TEAS. I want to give myself enough time!
So that puts me at 89-96/100 points.
Years of hard work into one packet... and now we wait.
Good luck to you all. You guys got this.

Thanks, Alexis! Much appreciated!

I would guess more classes, same amount of students. We can’t forget about clinicals and the amount sites SWC has. My friend who’s in the program told me they have 5 for their cohort. They probably have other sites for 2nd year students?
Hospitals probably have a limit of how many SNs can be at the site in a assigned date put by the hospital. Also, they likely have other BSN/ADN programs assigned to their hospital as well. So dates are probably full? Hard to see more students accepted.
We’ll see tho.

That’s true since only a few programs might be allowed to meet they can divide the students since there’s going to be a lot of empty classrooms.
So, no emails yet from the nursing program (paperwork, LVN dosage calculation, etc.)... at least no one in this group has received anything. Starting to feel like late May is more realistic for acceptances. It’s all good, but I wish we can get an update so I can get off my damn phone for a minute LOL.
I freak out when I get multiple emails from allnurses. This time I received like 5 and the time stamps were a few minutes apart. I thought it was gonna be you guys saying you received your acceptance. Y’all got me -.-

Hahahaha OMG I’m so sorry! I’d feel the same way. I created the snowball effect of the replies because I just had to know about the email. But I don’t think we’ll get to hear anything at least for another few days since it’s the weekend already. Have a good one y’all! ?

I didn’t get an email. When was it sent? I wonder what’s going to happen to the clinical part of the program.
