Southwestern College ADN Fall 2019

Hi everyone! I’m starting this thread so we can share our application criteria points with each other! I just turned in my application today. I have between 85 and 88 points. I have 3 B’s on my science prerequisites :((, 4.0 gpa for all the general Ed courses. I have fluency in Spanish, an associates degree, CNA, and volunteer experience. I scored an 88 on my TEAS! I hope they can look past my grades in my prerequisite courses and I get in!!! I hope we all get into this cohort! Good luck everyone

For the calculations test, do you have to score a perfect score to move on forward?

You can only miss 1 question out of 10. 90% is the lowest you can score.

Hello the calculations test for my cohort we had to pass the test with 100% once per semester. I would recommend you take the dosage calculation course in summer school that helped me tremendously ?

Correct and usually you have to still solve the missed problem depending on the professor. ?

Thank you for giving us insight on how the semester will go!! Super helpful! The LVNs that applied will be there next Thursday to take the test ?

oh your an LVN step yes your process is different so I'm not sure exactly how their process is but you will excel and good luck to you! I wasn't an LVN step up so it was a little different for me.

Congratulations! If you do get accepted to swc I would still attend the orientation so you can determine what is a best fit for you I know several people who accepted and then decided to go to Grossmont and vise versa you will do great regardless ?

Thank you for making a post! I have been looking for a southwestern fall 19' cohort post for awhile. I applied to grossmont but I doubt I got in. I had low 80s for points and they are harder get into than southwestern, so I heard. I have around 82 or 83 points, I think, for southwestern as well. CNA, Associates, 1 B in sciences(anatomy) and 1 B in English for G.E the rest A's. I got an 82.7 on the teas. ? less than 3 points away from full points at southwestern. ? I only applied to two colleges so I really hope I get in. But I have a gut feeling I will have to reapply? I keep getting registration emails that trick me into thinking it's a nursing email. I hope we all get in!!!!!!

Does anyone know how many spots they have available for LVN's that applied and when they send out emails to let us know if we got in or not?

There are 10 spots for LVNs - we should get an email shortly after we take the dosage exam (i hope)
