Southwestern College ADN Fall 2019

Published

Hi everyone! I’m starting this thread so we can share our application criteria points with each other! I just turned in my application today. I have between 85 and 88 points. I have 3 B’s on my science prerequisites :((, 4.0 gpa for all the general Ed courses. I have fluency in Spanish, an associates degree, CNA, and volunteer experience. I scored an 88 on my TEAS! I hope they can look past my grades in my prerequisite courses and I get in!!! I hope we all get into this cohort! Good luck everyone

Sadly I think I was missing my Flu form, and I tried to turn it in after the application cut off! Hopefully she will include it in my application and I’m still a candidate! Goodness she is strict! Still waiting patiently! We got this y’all!

Here goes another week ???? lets hope we hear something before spring break!

Omg I forgot about spring break ? will definitely post if I hear anything this week! We can do this guys!

Hopefully today is the day friends! I can’t wait through all of spring break not knowing!! I should have around 85 points! 4.0 GPA & 83 on TEAS and CNA & Associates Degree! But I’m still nervous I could have done something wrong somewhere!!

guys...I just went online to their website and found this

-Applicants will be notified of their status in mid-to-late April 2019 via SWC email account.

So another month. Keep in mind this was only found in LVN to ADN not ADN only.

thanks for the update! another month....at least we aren't waiting anxiously everyday. once April hits we'll be anxious again lol

Thank you for the update ? that’s better than not knowing. They probably have so many applicants due to Brightwood shutting down.

I am so nervous! As I was submitting my application for the LVN to ADN, I was told there were a lot of LVN applicants this time. I have all B's in my science classes... I only applied at SWC. Are any of you planning to attend a private college if you do not get in?

@movingfwd I applied to the LVN to ADN programs at SWC and Grossmont. I was going to apply to National but they cancelled their LVN to BSN cohort this year :( so I'm sticking with community colleges for now.

Last year's Fall cohort didn't get notified about acceptances until around April 29th......it's a long long wait for Southwestern because it's just one woman looking at the applications. We will know about the other schools (Grossmont, Palomar, MCC) a week or two earlier than Southwestern! HOPEFULLY! That's how it looked last year

Oh no! I did not know that about National :( I was planning to apply there if I did not get in at SWC because two of my science classes expire next year.

yes, i took the TEAS at National in August and then we all got an email from them that the cohort was cancelled ? so we can only apply for the generic RN program there.
