Need some info on the Evening/Weekend program at Southwest Tennessee Community College.

How long is the program?

Can you transfer into the program?

Any info would be helpful.

Thanks.:idea::idea::idea::idea:

Yes! I did the same in undergrad and finally got my act together and graduated with a 2.9 in 2001. Went back to take pre reqs at SW and made all A's, scored a 151 on NLN, so I applied for 2011.

What weighs more is API/II,etc,NLN, and overall gpa. They are broken down by percentages. An A=4,B=3,etc, NLN scorex10%, it is all on the website where you can figure it out.

I would definitely take courses over summer to get done.

A's in all the prereqs weigh in big time. I know people in program with me atm that have low gpa and nln but got in ok

Hi Jenn, thanxs for the encouragement. I've never worked full-time and attended a full-time program at the same time. If things get too tough I'm prepared to quit and take out a boat load of loans to cover food and shelter.

Its rough trust me. I am doing it atm. I feel overwhelmed alot. BUt i have passed everything so far and my HESI scores are dam good.

Does anyone know how long it takes for the committee to meet and decide whether or not you're in the program? They say we will get a phone call sometime in November and that the committee has not yet met..

Yeah, they are losing a lot of qualified applicants awaiting acceptance. I am going elsewhere now. I guess it's so competitive that they can be a little selective. I am looking forward to UoM in the spring and a BSN in the same amount of time it would take at SWTCC.

Looks like they would be able to say we are meeting on this date and you will be notified by this date...I really need this night program because I have to work but it's making me think I need to start checking into some other programs.

You have missed the deadlines for most schools, so I assume you are waiting for next fall now. They say you can go to Baptist night program and work until the last semester. May want to check into it.

I turned in all of my documents by the Oct 15 deadline, I just would have thought they could have gotten everything together by now instead of saying we will be notified sometime in November.

You would think right? I got my acceptance letters from the other schools I applied for within 2 weeks. So if SWCC calls I will not be able to attend now.

It's so frustrating! Which college are you attending?

I know it is frustrating. My friend started this semester and she is very frustrated being in it.

I will be going to UoM.

Specializes in ICU.

You should be notified by phone right before Thanksgiving. That's when I got my call, it was the Friday before.

Almost finished with the first semester!!!!!!! I'm starting to see light at the end of the tunnel! Does anyone have suggestions on the second semester schedule? It looks like Adult Health I is Tues and Thurs. You can pick either a Wed or Fri clinical. Any second or third semester students out there with any advise? I know that Adult Health is really tough, so would a Friday clinical be better, to space things out?
