Southern Crescent Technical College Spring 2022
Updated: Published
Hello everyone! I wanted to go ahead and create a thread for those who plan on applying to southern crescent ASN program for the Spring of 2022. I know the application is due August so lets chat and get aquainted! Im a transfer student and I had a few of my credits. I just needed to take the TEAS and AP 1 and 2, but I was told to retake my english courses 1 and 2 over due to getting a C at my old school. Also that I should pass those classes with A's cuz the program is so competitive and that people with C's hardly never make it in. That definitely scared me but I have faith.
But as far as the TEAS, what are you guys using to study? cuz im so nervous to take it. Overall this is a safe thread, no judgement and to help each other out.

My stats are 3.6 GPA and 78.7 on the TEAS. I wanted to score higher to better my chances! The lowest score accepted last cohert was a 443 and I’m currently at a 440.
I also applied to Gordon states nursing program and waiting to hear if I need to take the Kaplan for them.
Dang? I’m so sorry to hear that babe! That’s crazy though. You were just 3 points off. It’s like they’re making it so tough! But I take my TEAS soon and I’ll be able to apply right before the deadline. I don’t know my stats off the top of my head but I know my GPA is good. I do wish you well love❤️

Yes with Gordon you can take the Kaplan after you get accepted into the program. I really want to be at SCTC but if I have to I’ll apply to other schools and even LPN programs. Goodluck to us! ?? Hopefully we’ll be in orientation together ?

I definitely understand especially since you’re so close to graduating. Do you plan to bridge over to RN? If you’re accepted at SCTC since you’re not accepting the seat do they contact the next available applicant?
Hello all! I just applied for the first time at SCTech for the Spring 2022. I would love to meet others who may be on this journey with me. I am new to the area. I transferred most of my classes in but didn't take Algebra with Mr. China last semester. I did have the problem with my humanities class that has already been mentioned and did take music appreciation over the Summer. I would love to connect with some who is already in the program and also those who will hopefully be sitting with me in the program.
Hey! Goodluck on the journey I’m right here with you! I’m very excited yet nervous and praying that I hear good news back. At the moment I haven’t applied to any other programs but Gordon State is an option along with MGTC. I heard that we’ll know something by the 3rd or 4th week of September, hopefully sooner tho ??

I did go by the school yesterday and sat down and talk with an Advisor. She did say that alot of people that she was talking to didn't have the minimum requirements to apply although they said that they were still applying. I ask her what most were missing and she said the most didn't have at least a "B" in the sciences and math which is an automatic disqualifier. She said that letter will be sent around the 3rd to 4th week of September offering the seats to the program. I also asked her how the seats at the different campuses were choose. She said that the closer you are to the top of the class you will get your choice of campus. Which campus do you want? I really need Henry since I live in Locust Grove.
I’m hoping for the Henry campus also. I don’t want to sound rude or mean but hearing that a lot of ppl applying didn’t meet the minimum requirements is good to hear for me. All together my score is 447.6, last year the lowest score they accepted was 443.6 so I’m staying positive although I know that it’s going to depend on the scores from this pool of applicants. What other questions did the answer for you if you don’t mind sharing.
The only other questions that I asked were about days per week, I was told that the program was Monday-Friday. I verified if clinicals were in person and they are in-person. The biggie that she ask me was if I was vaccinated. She said the school was not requiring the vaccine but the hospital were mandating the vaccine. If you are accepted into the program I guess that is going to be the first thing that will be asked. If you refuse to be vaccinated then you will forfeit your spot (of course with acceptations of medical and religious exemptions) This is all I can think of that we talked about. Any other information I will be happy to pass it along.
Yes, it will be very hard to gauge if our scores are good enough to get in because every year will be different. If you look at the statics from the last 4 years the scores are pretty close every year (within a few points). I did talk with a girl yesterday briefly. She was currently in the program. I asked her if she liked the program. She said she did. It was intense but she was enjoying it. I also asked how were the instructors and she said they were good. I hope to run in to a few more and ask some questions. I think that this is the best way to make sure the program is right for you!
Yes! Sounds like you asked all the right questions. I’m done what surprised tho because from previous students I thought it was Mon-Thurs. I knew the vaccination topic was going to come up because all hospitals has mandated it for their employees. I’m the same way with trying the pick the brains of current students to get some type of expectation.
