I'm thinking about starting South University. Is there anyone here attending and if so, how do you like the program. How are the classes formatted? Also, has it been difficult for anyone earning an online degee with NP to find a job? Thanks.

Hi! I am currently looking at South U for my FNP. This is the Austin, TX campus, but I'm sure all their campuses have most of the same flow to their program! Any input about the quarter process, how long the program will take, or honestly anything at all would be great! I really want to give it a chance, so any input would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I am interested in South Universities BSN program, do any of you know if they are accredited on accne? I just looked at the list and couldn't find them which makes me wonder if I wouldn't be able to get my license upon completion of the program.

Hi. I have no idea how this site works, so I don't know how to start a thread or if I am supposed to! However I am doing research about nursing programs, and I went to South University to inquire. I have prerequisites that will possibly transfer but need to complete more. I am just looking for some advice, as I do not want to take out a loan for my prerequisites(want to save for nursing). Is South University a wise choice? The reviews I read about stealing the financial aid and still asking for money scares the heck out of me! I am trying to look at nursing school as an investment and yes I will most likely need to take a loan. Can anyone recommend an accelerated BSN besides South to look into?(I am located in NC) Or if you have any advice about how to maneuver regarding South would be great. Thank you!!!-An anxious but ambitious future student

If you are not yet a nurse, you would be better off asking about this in the Pre-Nursing student forum. This forum is for Nurse Practitioner students.

As far as opinions go, I would not recommend going to South due its reputation. You'd be better served by going to an ABSN program at your local university or even getting your RN at a community college and then completing an RN-to-BSN program. Stay away from the for-profit schools who will charge you around $80K or more to get your RN.
