South University
Hi, I am interested in South Universities BSN program, do any of you know if they are accredited on accne? I just looked at the list and couldn't find them which makes me wonder if I wouldn't be able to get my license upon completion of the program.

Lonestar nursing applicants for spring 2016
Hello, I'm applying for 2017 Spring at Kingwood. I made an 88% overall on my HESI but was very unhappy with the 76 in a&p and the 790 in critical thinking!! Just recently decided to apply...I have taken all prereqs except pharm which I'm doing this fall. So far I have a 7.02/8 but I'm worried it might not be high enough and I don't want to be an alternate. The deadline is fast approaching and I am not sure if I should study and retake the HESI the week before deadline in hopes of a higher grade? Any advice would be helpful, thank you!!

HELP: Will I ever get into ANY nursing schools?!
Hi Scout, It sounds like you and I are in a similar boat. My overall gpa is a 3.65 and my science gpa is a 3.44 (I think). I have applied to UT Austin, UTHealth Science Center Houston, and SHSU. I am applying for a traditional bsn degree for spring 2017 because I wasn't accepted into any of these schools nursing programs. I was declined from UTAustin and SHSU nursing, but oddly enough was waitlisted for UTHealth. I have taken both the HESI and the TEAS once, and barely studied for each. I scored an overall 89% on HESI and a 74% on TEAS. That being said, I felt the TEAS was much more difficult than the HESI. Of course, next time I take each test I plan on studying a month or so in advance. I think what will really help you get into nursing school is an outstanding test score if your science gpa isn't that competitive. I felt like the reason I was declined from SHSU was because my TEAS score wasn't good. I am applying to as many universities as I can for the spring, so let me know if you have any other questions or results. :)

Choosing a University
Hi thank you for responding! I have applied to UTHealth Science Center in Houston and was wait-listed, I applied right on the deadline because of my classes and so I think that may be the reason. I also applied to Sam Houston State University and UT Austin (kind of a random shot). If none of these options work out then I may apply to UTTyler or Texas Tech University for Texas. Not sure for out of state because their requirements are fairly different as far as math class and chem classes go.

Choosing a University
Hello! I am a student at Lone Star Community College and I am finishing up all my pre nursing courses as well as applying/applied to universities. I have applied to three universities and was waitlisted for one, and probably won't hear back from the other two until May. I am choosing other universities to apply to because I am not sure if I will get into the other two nursing programs. My overall current gpa is a 3.68 and my first time HESI score is an 89 (I plan on retaking it though). I am thinking about applying to the University of Indiana Bloomington but wasn't sure what most schools are looking for in specific courses. I am taking Microbiology and A&P 2 right now and I am worried I will get B's in both, which will probably take my gpa down further. Advice on where to apply in US? I am a TX resident but also open to out of state choices.
