Hi everyone, am an LPN working in south florida. I will be enrolling in Excelsior College and would like to connect with some other EC students currently doing the same in my area.
thank you.
i bought the books i needed on ebay, and resold them. i found that the notes being sold on ebay were, in my opinion, a total ripoff. i did buy a cpne guide that was absolutely useless. there is an entire industry built around screwing excelsior students, so i wouldn't buy anything i couldn't resell on ebay.
let's face it.. what gets you through is one thing, and that is conceptual understanding. i'd suggest you get the recommended books used.. even if they aren't the current edition. buy, study, resell. it's plenty cheap enough, and you'll actually learn enough that you can get out there and be passable as a nurse in your knowledge base.
best wishes to all.
good luck. this year, i'll make over 100 once again.
You would need to be a LPN, Paramedic, Respiratory therapist, Physician assistant. You can earn your LPN to ADN and your ADN to BSN from excelsior, checkout their website http://www.excelsior.edu.
In Florida you can only be a Lpn to sit for your RN. There was a big thing with the state of Florida and excelsior about this. Do a search on google for Florida and Excelsior. They are making exceptions for the ones that are already in the program though. Florida feels as though the other professions don't have the clinical experience like the LPN's do.

Thanks! But I also saw something about being a corpsmen in the military, that u would qualify??!! I used to be a "LPN" or a coprsmen in the military, but is not an acredited school for me to practice outside the Army, at least the year I took the course so I guess I would have to call them and c what up??!!!
