South Florida excelsior student

Published

Hi everyone, am an LPN working in south florida. I will be enrolling in Excelsior College and would like to connect with some other EC students currently doing the same in my area.

thank you. ;)

I was thinking about enrolling in their program, but I don't have enough information yet. have you enrolled? or are you doing the pre reqs?

I've sent my college transcript in to excelsior already for evaluation and then i will enroll. :icon_roll

If you go to their website http://www.excelsior.edu and create a user account for their site you can request information and a catalog to be mailed out to you. Are you and LPN ?

Yes, I am an LPN and I live in Largo. I was wondering about the cost of the program and the cost of the pre req tests and where to take the tests. Have you done your pre reqs already? I was wondering about buying the study guides from a former Rue or Chancellors student, I hear you can get those on EBAY.

The cost depends on if you have pre reqs already, however you can do your pre reqs at your community college or just take clep exams for college credit. There is a $75 fee when you send in your transcript for evaluation, then if you enroll there is an enrollment fee of $895 which you can make up to 6 equal payment. There are now 8 exam which cost about $220 each and the clinical cost $1825. I have some pre reqs from the community college, but I still need some humanties and micro. I bought some college network study guides on ebay. :specs:

hello I am in south fl also, and i too applied at exselsior, I failed out of RN school on my very last class before my practicum, so now i am looking into getting my lpn license by equivalency. I am just having a rude awakening of how much the cost is for excelsior, i heard that we would have to go to GA for the clinical day is that correct?

Hey I live in Largo too, and I just took nc 5 today and got a C. The funny thing is I got A's on all the other test prior. I was bummed but at least I passed.

The cost for excelsior is not that bad compared to cost of a 2 years degree program (it's worth it). And for the clinical portion of the programs there are several hospital that you can go to including GA.

Boyle80 how often do you take a test and what study material are you using?

I am using Lisa Arends notes, and those are the only thing I have been using. I take a test about 1 1/2 month to 2 months before I take a test. I am going to try to take a test every month now, because I would like to finish before April!

I was wondering about getting started. When do you enroll with excelsiors and where is the list of pre reqs for the RN program? I am an LPN and have some pre reqs completed. Thanks

you will need 31 credits of general education, so if you have some credits already that would make it easier for you. Also you can take clep exams or excelsior exams for your pre reqs.

I've seen lisa's notes for sale on ebay, am thinking about getting them. thanks.:specs:

excelsior sure worked for me. i took all the nc concepts exams over a period of 31 days... last year, i made 102k as an rn.

great way to go.
