Hello All
I just got my failure notice and I'm very unhappy. I had 265 questions. I'm a military member who's been in and out of the country several time these last few years. I got my BSN degree in 2005 but the military has had me with little time to study for NCLEX. Can any one give me a list of good study prep books to buy and some sound advice to refresh my nursing knowledge. The sad part is I don't do anything in the medical field while in the military. I feel as if i'm starting all over again. I need my RN license for life after the military. Please help!

Hi
Personally I would say Saunders Comprehensive RN review and use the CD and practice questions, read the rationale even if you got it right. If you feel that you need to review before doing the CD then the book is excellent as a review
Good luck

Hello cram24! I'm sorry to hear that you didn't made it for the nclex. I too didn't made it, I took it last week. I'm also trying to freshen up with my nsg. content. I've graduated long time ago too, in 2003, from the Phils. And have been having a hard time being out of school and not having much experience with nsg. for a while since I got here in the states. Our friends here in the site have suggested a couple of references, I for one use saunders it's very helpful and it is very easy to read and study with, it really boosts up your nsg. knowlege. Another items i'd like to suggest would be prentice hall's nclex-rn by mary hogan and the nclex-rn exam crams books by rinehart. Both books are copyrighted by pearson which really does mimic the real board exam. The questions of these reviewers are quite harder and are high-leveled type of questions compared to saunders. I also use la charity as it has been widely poplularized for its known good feedback for studying prioritization, delegation, and assignment-type questions. And lastly, I believe enrolling for the 3wk. online course for ncsbn would be really helpful. I jst started the program and I've been loving it. Basically, I'm studying again, from the beginning and like you I'm hoping one day i'll be a registered nurse. So let's stay postive and work our hardest, and in the end I know we will be both ready this time and finally pass this test.
