Hi future nurses!
I just got my acceptance email today at Solano! I think we should all communicate through here for questions and what not. I tried to look at previous forums, but they did not have info about when clinicals and lectures are. I want to find out this info before accepting the position in case I get accepted from another program that is better for me. Especially since I live 2 hours away.
Thanks!
I was also accepted for an alternate position. Personally I think this was a pretty careless mistake with a not so great solution. This is a huge deal for a lot of people! And I agree with the person here who mentioned that they already moved the notification date from January to February. Idk about you all but I was never even notified that they would be taking an additional month before sending out the email. That was 5 whole months total to make the selections.
I obviously don’t know the efforts put into selecting applicants...but it seems that this process wasn't taken as seriously as it should have been and unfortunately there are a lot of really bummed students because of that. Honestly I’ll feel a little guilty if I end up getting in the second time and someone else loses their spot who already had an acceptance email. And I’ll be very disappointed if I lose my spot as an alternate. It’s just all around terrible.
I agree, this is very disappointing for all of us. When I received my acceptance letter on Friday, I told my family and friends. My boyfriend even took me out to dinner to celebrate getting into Nursing school. Now, if I don’t get an acceptance letter again or even on the alternate list, I’m going to feel very embarrassed.
I’ve worked so hard applying for programs for about a year now. After being used to seeing denials, I was in complete shock to see this acceptance. I was thinking about it all day how happy I was and waited for my family to come home to tell them. It felt like a slap in the face to get the next email. We’re all feeling the same ?

Based on the initial acceptance email, 47. I believe the first 11 were given early acceptance for one reason or another and the remaining 36 slots were allotted to the lottery system. Then from what others have said, 30 people were given alternate status.
