I passed Health and Safety this morning with an A! I took both practice tests and looked up vocab i'd forgotten. I know all the exams won't be this easy I took 3 days to review. I i scheduled this test 3 days after i registered.

Hi,
Congrats on passing!
I am also just starting out..I am an ADN dropout. I have paid for the HS exam along with the practice test. I have not schedule an exam date yet but I was planning to study the topics 1st then do the 1st practice exam and based on my results I would schedule the actual exam....review areas of weakness and then take the practice Exam B to so my improvement. How does that sound as a strategy? Do you think that make sense? Keep up the good work!!!! I plan on getting all exams done by April.

Sounds like a great plan. Good luck with studying.
I'm studying that way too Determine2b! I want to hopefully finish my exams by summer. I was in an ADN program as well but now I'm doing EC. I thought all hope was lost but I'm glad this option is available.

Hi Missy77,
When is your next test? have you taken HS yet. Hope we can stay in touch and motivate each others. I see you are also in the North East. I am in CT so I will definitely do CNPE in Albany or Queens. Keep me posted. Maybe we can strive towards getting this done and CPNE date together. I am so looking forward to get this done.
Ps.
My orig RN class will graduate this May so if I can get these test done by then and setup CPNE = SUPER!!!
Congratulations on your pass! I"m just starting the Paramedic to RN program at Excelsior, haven't been a student in 10 years and this online stuff is new to me. I"m nervous. Any tips on where to start? Are there any major roadblocks or tricks that I should know about? I appreciate any help you can give me.
i am an 11 year firefighter paramedic and do not have lpn, what are some tips for studying for this test. i have been studying for a month and i am slowly retaining all the info for health safety but would like to know if you have any tips or tricks

check out a couple of resources that i find helpful, maybe you will too :-)
flashcardexchange.com--tons of excelsior resources. just sign up (it's free) and search excelsior health safety or nursing concepts 1 (the old name of the test) and you will find alot of flashcard study.
studygroup101.com--i have purchased cd's for all the tests. lots and lots of useful information and practice tests. breaks it all down.
saunders comprehnsive nclex-rn review---pretty much my excelsior test bible. i use this to study the most often after i do the required reading. breaks everything down in very organized, bulleted sections by system/disease and has practice tests.
and above all.... pay the $65 for the excelsior practice tests, they are the best!!!
good luck :-)
