So I got a CPNE date in Racine.........

Published

And it's way earlier than I expected!! I know a few days ago I was on here complaining about not having a date yet, but holy cow, did I not expect to be right on with my "ready date." I had put an earlier ready date based on their scheduling time frames thinking I would be a month out from that.. Boy was I wrong!

What happens when you get your "confirmation packet"? Am I able to reject it and then get another date?? I'm still not quite sure as to what I'm going to do yet.. I really want to make it to a workshop and none of them are anywhere near me or offered at the right time! I don't plan on working a whole lot during this time.. Maybe 8 hours a week and dedicate the rest of my time to CPNE prep. I just opened the study guide this week and I am having palpitations every time I read it!

You can decline the date and ask for a later date. The key is to start preparing so the date won't freak you out when you get it.

I'd call EC and ask if they can move your date. This way you will have an answer sooner and they will have an opportunity to offer your date to someone else.

Good Luck!

P.S. I've heard so many good things about Racine. It seems to be very good testing place.

Thanks!! I'm not sure if I will get any help when I call.. The MPAC doesn't seem to be into doing anything over the phone. I was nervous this might happen, but based on when they said they were scheduling people, I never thought in a million years I would get that exact date. And of course I ended up having to provide my work with availability which is adding to the complication of figuring out a workshop.

They are pretty right on with the date that you request. I requested November 15th and got the 20th. You should have your critical elements down before attending a workshop. It really benefits you to have some knowledge beforehand. If that means declining your date then you should do that why there is no penalty.

i'm not sure which site you're talking about... but i chose all the wisconsin sites and ohio. my application was accepted on nov. 3rd and i received a date on dec. 31 on my "ready" date which is in 10 weeks.

Hey Erin congrats on getting a date. I am getting discouraged and just need some encouragement that getting my RN is possible this way. I am using study group 101 notes and Nclex rn comprehensive review from Saunders. I hope that will be sufficient for health safety and Trans to RN nursing.

Don't get discouraged!! One thing I learned is that there are no shortcuts to this program... I used TCN/Chancellor modules for tests 1,3,4 & 6. I got B's on all of them and failed 6 with a D. It took me months to gain the confidence to test again after 6. When I started back up, I used older editions of the textbooks. I spent 2 weeks on 7, 4 or 5 on 5/6 and got A's on the rest of them. The last exam I took, I finally felt like I knew how to prepare for the tests.....and it was over!

Good luck to you and stay motivated!! Before you know it you'll be the one with the CPNE date and freaking out on a whole new level!

Thanks! Erin you really gave me something to think on. Keep in touch and let me know how its going preparing for the CPNE. You will be in my prayers.
