Hi everyone, I applied to the Southern New Hampshire University online RN to BSN program today and from what I can see its a fairly new online offering for them. I was wondering if there is anyone who is currently enrolled in the program that can tell me what their experiences have been.
Hi cburton21,
I have now completed three of the RN-BSN classes with a remaining of two classes to go. It has been a great experience. It does take a personal commitment but it is totally doable while working full time. I have found the program so far very informative and pertinent to the current nursing issues.
There are discussion posts, papers, group projects, etc., as in any of the other programs. If you decide to attend SNHU you will not be disappointed.
Hi Bugs RN, I have been accepted to SNHU as of today. I'm trying to decide between this program and another. I will need to take statistics. Just wondering if you or anyone you know have needed to take this course and how difficult was it. Also I was told I could test out of nutrition. How are your nursing classes going? Are there a lot of group projects? Anything you can tell me would be very helpful. Thank you so much, CBurton21
I graduated with my BSN from SNHU. It's a great program, intense but workable. I wasn't crazy about the group work but it was really only a small portion of the assignments. The professors are very helpful, but know your APA formatting as there is a lot of writing involved. The program is now CCNE accredited and retroactive for past graduates. I am very happy I chose this school.
I am getting ready to start my first RN to BSN online course at SNHU. I am just curious if you could share about how many hours per week you had to commit to class work. I am taking the six required classes in 10 week increments. Like others, I am working full time, have a family and am trying to plan ahead as to how to best organize my studies. Thanks!
I am eager to hear caddywompus's reply as well. I really like the setup of the SNHU program and have narrowed down my RN-BSN selection to SNHU and WGU. While I like the price of WGU, I prefer the streamlined curriculum and standard grading system of SNHU.
By the way, I thought only five 6-credit nursing classes were required. I'm hoping the 6th class is stats, which I've already taken.
Good luck!
Kathleen-RN
