Me too, on adults and peds.

Personally, I LOVE the chlorhexadine swab sticks....just squeeze in the wings and scrub away. And a thorough scrubbing with alcohol pads works well, too.

As for the gauge, I agree that smaller is better. However, students should keep in mind that policy may differ from facility to facility. I know as a student myself, one hospital group required that anyone who may receive blood had to have a 20g or larger

Larger or smaller RBCs are macrocytic or microcytic.
