SJSU Spring 2017 (Questions/Comments/Concerns)

I looked around to see if anyone had started a thread but nothing

Does anyone know if I can take the CHAD 70 coreq course at my local community college instead of SJSU while in the nursing program? Or after being admitted into the program does it have to be taken at SJSU?

You can ask this question at "mandatory new student workshop" in Jan 23th. I think it depends to the numbers of unites which you already have (transferred from CC) because SJSU only accept 70 transfer units. But why don't you want to take it at SJSU. From 12 units to 16 unites at SJSU, you pay the same tuition. You also save money and time by not commuting to another campus.

It's free for me to go to city college in San Francisco where I live so cost isn't an issue. The schedule times were an issue and it's an online class at city college.

okay I'm making it right now but i need to add at least one friend! anyone want to share their Facebook name?

Add mine. Brian Cheng.

I just sent you a friend request. Let me know if I found the right account.

Hey everyone, I'm on the waitlist, but recently after checking mysjsu portal to look to see if my grades are posted, I noticed that my major was changed to Nursing. I haven't received a letter yet, so I'm confused if I got accepted or not. Can anyone let me know whats going on?

I would think they only change your major if you are accepted. Snail mail is a lot slower at this time of the year so that may be a reason why you haven't received anything. You should email Dr. Malloy instead of waiting because there is time sensitive stuff you need to get done.

Yay!! And I will definitely email her. Thank you for all the help!

Hey guys, I've been quite stressed about this. I don't know if any of you are experiencing something similar, but do you guys know if we need to have all vaccinations done by the deadline? Or is it okay to have it in progress? Specifically Hepatitis B. Will I be denied my acceptance if I don't finish the series by the deadline? But the series requires a duration of time before the next shot. (It's a little too late to upload my immunization record that I had been vaccinated as a baby since I already uploaded my titer results....) I should have just uploaded proof of my vaccination...It's already holidays and the deadline is coming up...

You'll be fine- they understand that hep b is continuous. In regard to the other vaccines, I'm pretty sure proof of either a titer or vaccine can be uploaded and is sufficient.

Thanks for your assurance @tanktop! I really hope so... I also need to re-titer for Hep B after the series finish.

For the last couple of items on the Castlebranch To-Do List, are we supposed to check Yes or No for the Additional Background Check & Drug Screen? Not quite sure.
