SJDC ADN FALL 2016

Published

Hi everyone!

I wanted to start a thread for the people who are applying to San Joaquin Delta College's nursing program for FALL 2016 cohort. I know the application period is still a month away but I'm just so excited. I still need to take my TEAS. Maybe we can all get to know each other and compare scores?

Good luck to all of us !

Yay I was invited to submit documentation as well! So happy but this is the first obstacle we must get through. Best of luck to everyone!

No PDF for me either! They are probably still working on it!

The PDF file is available now. Just wanted to let you all know.

I just completed my ADN Application Packet. I also made an appointment with SJDC's Nursing Program Counselor for 04/18/2016. Just to triple check my application and it's correctness. The online application site is usually unsuccessful, but if you go down to the office and make an appointment in person, there are appointments available. Good luck everyone!

Hey Kittysteve quick question,

For the TEAS transcripts did you pay the $25 to have ATI send your transcripts? Because I called the health science office this morning and the lady told me I didn't need to do that. That all I had to do was print my result pages from my ATI account and attach them to my application. She also said I needed to email them my scores. I'm not sure what to do because the packet says to have ATI send the transcripts.

I don't mean to make you paranoid, but I'm a little wary about accepting any info from anyone that isn't directly in charge of helping in that area. I HIGHLY SUGGEST going to the counseling office and seeing PAM MUCKENFUSS (Nursing Program counselor). You have to go to the counseling office yourself to get an appointment. I'd go soon because appointments will fill up quickly.

As far as the ATI TEST RESULTS, the CHECKLIST has a portion that asks you to state when TEAS SCORES were sent. I assume this is to officiate the sending of the results. If someone at the front desk tells you to also attach a printed copy, I guess you can do that, but also CLEARLY STATE that OFFICIAL RESULTS were sent via email FROM ATI. So yes, I paid the fee for sending the official results.

I'm guessing they wouldn't have that part of the application dedicated to TEAS RESULTS unless it is implying an OFFICIAL COPY. It's been my experience with several ADN PROGRAM APPLICATIONS to several other schools, that when invited to submit other official documents, an OFFICIAL TEAS RESULTS are also required. But like I said, triple check and schedule an appointment with PAM MUCKENFUSS. You should try to go quick! Best of luck!

:sarcastic:

P.S. I called the Allied Health office asking about a few other things, and the person I spoke with told me something with certainty at first, but when I asked her "are you sure?" she could only come up with an unclear/vague answer. Not to have a negative attitude towards the help, but I would seriously triple check. I have a list of questions ready to ask Pam when I see her. (A list of questions is also required when seeing a counselor, to speed things along). Good luck!

Thank you very much for your very detailed response!

Yes I feel uneasy about not having ATI send my transcripts. Thats why I wanted to ask you guys! Yes I agree with you, I think it's best to speak with the nursing counselor. I emailed her in hopes of getting her to squeeze me in for an appointment. Can you let us know what Pam said ? Just in case none of us are able to get an appointment to discuss with her our application.

Thank you Kittysteve!! Best of luck to you as well!

Yes I'll let everyone know the details! But I would suggest going into the counselor's office, that will guarantee you a spot!

You know what just occurred to me is that if you took the TEAS at SJDC, that may only require a printed report, but outside SJDC, the results must be official.

Thanks!! Yes Im going to try tomorrow or next week.

No problem.

is there anyone here who completed their prereq. Courses at another college? On the checklist it says that we must submit offical transcript and course descriptions. How do we submit course descriptions? It is for the purpuse of determining course equivalency !!!
